You will find the 60’s and 70’s to be a gold mine for music. We were transitioning from the music of the 40’s and 50’s to the music of the 80’s and up.

THIS Steppenwolf was named after the character in the novel of the same name by Nobel Prize winning author Hermann Hesse, Not the silly comic book character, In the 1960s we had bands that were literate. "Sympathy for the Deivil" taking lines from the novel by Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov called THE MASTER AND MARGARITA. Jim Morrison quoting William Blake i the song "End of the Night" (compare with Blake's poem "Auguries of Innocence" (published in 1863): "The Winners Shout the Losers Curse Dance before dead Englands Hearse Every Night & every Morn Some to Misery are Born Every Morn and every Night Some are Born to sweet delight Some are Born to sweet delight Some are Born to Endless Night " And I', sure I need not mention Lewis Carroll and Jefferson Airplane, need I?

Really awesome Hippie trippin music ! Quite a bit of psychedelic trippin music like Iron Butterfly- In a Gadda da Vida which is more than 17 minutes long there’s a video on KZfaq from about 1968 I think that seems to be the epitome of the hippie trippin music but it really is so good I remember how this influenced my guitar playing back in the late 1980s I went from blues and heavy metal to sixties psychedelic acid rock and stayed on that path for a few years learning everything I could how to recreate that awesome sound it was raw and antiquated according to the late 80s standard but that was what drew me to it .

In that time - there was the music, the drugs, the Vietnam war, the draft, and news reports of deaths in the thousands every week. We of the younger generation visited outer space on a routine basis.
