Yes, 1980 I saw The Baby's open for Journey and soon after Greg Rollie left Journey and Jonathan Cain joined the band and started a phenomenal run for them! Great music from both and great memories!

This song brings back memories of my very first rock concert. In 1980 STYX was my favorite band and The Babys opened for them. By the way from 1981 to present day RUSH is my favorite band.

"Turn and Walk Away" is another great song by them. The lead singer, John Waite, also had a successful solo career; I recommend his songs, "Change" and "Missing You". The keyboardist, Jonathan Cain, later joined "Journey", writing many of their hits.

It's clear in this song most of journeys big hits came from his songwriting, before then journey had more of a rock n roll feel to their songs like wheel in the sky or anytime

Thanks for getting into 'The babys', they have some great songs like, "Every time I Think Of You", "Midnight Rendezvous", "Head First" and "Isn't It Time". John Waite is the lead singer and went on a solo career, he had a huge hit titled "Missing You". I'm sure you'd like any of these songs. This particular song really brings it back for me, such a time to be alive, thanks again!

The Babys were my first concert in 1977. John Waite, a great singer. The opening band was Piper, which was the band Billy Squier was in before going solo. What a way to start my live music journey.

The Baby's singer John Waite, Baby's bassist Ricky Phillips (also Styx) were in Bad English with former Baby's keyboardist Jonathan Cain who had joined Journey (wrote Don't Stop Believin, etc), and Journey guitarist Neal Schon (also HSAS, Santana, Hardline), and drummer Deen Castronovo (Joyrney, Revolution Saints, The Dead Daisies, Ozzy, Hardline, Cacophony, GZR, Fear Factory, Hole, etc).

When I was 16 in highschool in the '70s I saw them at the Capital Theatre in Flint, Michigan and 5000 people were up dancing in the aisles! They were badass...!

John Waite is the constant member of the Babys 👶. Chicago natives Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips joined the last version of The Babys 👶 until the break up in 1980. John Waite, Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips reunited in 1988. They, Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo formed Bad English. I went to the journey concert when the baby's opened for them. I went specifically to see the baby's. I left as journeys biggest fan. Steve's voice is amazing!

I saw them open for RUSH in the Orpheum Theater in Boston, they were a awesome opening act and John Waite was already starting a nice career, saw him a bunch after he left them but he always played a bunch of their songs and always put on a great show, his band always could flat out play. Great stuff, try Dying Man for a deep cut and banger from them. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

not completely certain but thought I had read once that Jonathan Cain had the piano intro to Journey's song 'Dont stop believing' and John Waite didn't like it or want to write to it or something so when Jonathan got to Journey Steve Perry made it into something excellent....if someone could check me that's what I believe to be true
