Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are 80-yrs-old and leading the Stones on a sold pit tour of the US right now - 62 years after the band formed in 1962. Jagger is the greatest frontman of all-time.

Right after he says all my friends are junkies, he says that’s not true. I think this is a satire of what media used to say about him. They just put out an album and it’s good . Plus at 80 he is still touring

Greatest rock and roll band in rock ‘n roll history IMO, and Jagger is the best front man ever. And yes, at 80 years old (Jagger and Richards) the band recently released a new album called Hackney Diamonds and are in the middle of a stadium tour. Jagger is still running and prancing all over the stage. Amazing!

The Rolling Stones are on tour right now, and they have a new album out. This particular song was played on disco dance floors in the early days of disco, because it was so much fun to dance to. Back when they were making a big deal out of rock bands making a cross-over song for disco, Monkey Man had made it years before the pack.

Jagger created the archetypal rock frontman. Everyone on that list comes after him. He's the undisputed no. 1. That said, I am so sick of Freddie Mercury and Queen being overrated. Never has a band benefitted from a pop culture resurgence more than them. Their current stature is the result of historical revisionism.

I just went to Las Vegas two weeks ago and checked out the Stones in front of 60k people at Aligiant Stadium. Mick Jagger and Kieth Richards are both in their 80s. Ronnie Wood is not far behind. and yes, they still got it. They released a brand new Album in November of 2023 called Hackney Diamonds and there is an absolute Banger that is a Duette with Lady Gaga and Mick Jagger, also Stevie Wonder playing keyboards. You should check out the lyric video called Sweet Sounds of Heaven. Brown Sugar and Bitch are two bangers that are way too controversial for todays political correctness police. You could probably pull off a reaction to these songs on YT. As long as you are okay with edgier subject matter. You could do a top 100 Stones songs and have to leave out some great music.

We went to the opening night of the tour in Houston. They killed it. Set list was awesome. Multiple generations were on their feet singing along (from the pit to the nosebleeds). You are correct, 80 years old and still got it. Mick was running all over the stage and Keef and Ron were just as good! Also, I read somewhere that they won’t play Brown Sugar live anymore, as of awhile back, but they played Bitch at Met Life this weekend. They Played a solid 2.5 hours opening night including encores & don’t seem to be losing steam yet.

O no no. “I could use a lemon squeezer” is the line. Just like Led Zeppelin’s The Lemon Song ( Squeeze me….till the juice runs down my leg… the way you squeeze my lemons…etc) this is a sexual reference-not a drug reference. Stay off the Reddit children… The lemon squeezing is derived (yet again) from Robert Johnson’s Traveling Riverside Blues from 1937.

Mick Jagger is the greatest front man some people will say Freddie Mercury is but I strongly disagree. Now Freddie Mercury sings real good but that's not all it takes it takes attitude the way the song is delivered by Jagger is like no other he is funny he is sexy ,he's witty and he's full of energy and rocks out. I think you like him because his attitude I could see that you did because the way you acted at the end of that song lol. Mick i's a great front man he is the best.

Serious point of view here, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, John Lennon and Mick Jagger all had one sound that very few others had and that is the sounds of their voice has a fatherly sound underneath it all, it's a mature sorta older sounding, brimming with confidence and authority of song. Basically daddy figures to some extent. This explains why they warm to our hearts as vocalists and why we take their words seriously too!

An angry song from a very angry album: Let It Bleed. No doubt the Stones were much annoyed at the harassment they'd been receiving from the British Establishment over the previous 18 months (1967/68). Two of the band were jailed (Mick & Keith) and their creativity did suffer. But they reacted very well with four top class albums [Beggars Banquet/Let It Bleed/Sticky Fingers/Exile On Main Street] over thenext number of years.

This is the beginning of their 5 album run as " world's greatest rock and roll" band. Mick and Keith get some crap as being sloppy and old and pass their expiration date. People forget they are great songwriters and all the riffs Keith has come up with. Mick is the greatest frontman, and Keith is just Keith, and there will never be another band or music like this or even comparable to hem, again.

Kidding right? The 5 album “best of”run starts at Beggars then Let It bleed, then Get Yer Ya Ya Out, Sticky Fingers and ends with Exile on Main Street. The rest of the ‘70s produced some decent songs but a whole lot of nothing else really. Please don’t tell me that anything from Emotional Rescue or Tattoo You makes you turn up your stereo to 11!

@@daddyboy3546I think Goats Head Soup has been re-evaluated and hailed in much higher regard. Still, it has too many mediocre moments to be in the pantheon of their greatest albums. The murky production works on Exile, but it bogs down Goats Head, especially as they steer further from Americana to more balladry. It's Only Rock ‘n Roll is even less consistent and has too many overlong songs that meander and do nothing, as does Black and Blue. Some Girls is the outlier here, as it is a great album that mostly gets back to no-frills rock and roll. Anything after that might contain a few good songs but nothing great.
@daddyboy3546
@daddyboy3546 2 ай бұрын
@@fuchsiaswing8545 I agree. Couple of good songs like Star Star-but loads of Exile outtakes and dreck ballads (Angie). Jimmy Miller and Keef were more interested in their smack habits than anything else. Wyman was on his way out. As far as what the Stones are doing now, I’ll have to go with Lester Bangs who wrote this about Goats Head,”.., "There is a sadness about the Stones now, because they amount to such an enormous 'So what?' The sadness comes when you measure not just one album, but the whole sense they're putting across now against what they once meant.”
