I saw the Who in 1982 on this tour. I was aware of them, and knew a lot of their music, but I had no idea how awesome they were live. To this day, this was the greatest rock concert I've ever been to, it was literally a religous experience. When Pete and Co. played, it wasn't just entertainment, it was a shamanistic ritual that brought you to a higher level of conciousness that you didn't even know existed. And he was On that night. He gave an interview on the local radio station that literally went on for over 4 hours. He talked about "the music of the spheres," how he just became a channel for this higher energy that flowed through him. I couldn't sleep that night, I couldn't come down from that state of being. In fact I didn't sleep for about a week. It was like being on acid and meth except it was natural. This is a long story, and it changed the trajectory of my life, but I'll stop here cause its just a comment on KZfaq.

They evolved so much over time. But this really did grab a lot of attention when it came out. Great song. Glad you grooved to it!

My very first concert was The Who in 89. And is still the best concert I have ever been to.

No offense to Pete but for me John Entwisle's bass and tone makes the whole song, without it it's just a filler song off of some album.

Stop doing all the "usual" reactions. Try "Vitamin C" by Can. THAT's some 60's shit that almost nobody heard but the musicians who turned it into rap and techno and changed music. Oh, and for another Who song that will make you go "what?," "Who are You."
