THANK YOU! I've been freaking out over the Christmas thing in the opening, and so far I haven't seen another reaction channel pick up on it, I thought I was going insane. Yes TVXQ only have 2 members now, the guy doing the "bringing the energy" is Yunho, aka U-Know and the other member is Changmin aka Max. They've been in the industry for 20 years and are 2nd gen giants. They started out as a 5 member boy group, intended as an acapella group, their vocals are amazing, in 2009, 3 of the members left and formed JYJ, Jaejoong aka Hero, Yoochun aka Micky, Junsu aka Xia, they all have solo songs and albums outside of their respective groups except for Yoochun who focused on acting, and I think he now has left the industry after a scandal, and because of some legal issues he still has a broadcasting ban which means he can't continue his career in entertainment. I highly recommend checking out more from them, they have a very varied discography, you may not like all of it, but you will definitely find other songs that are up your ally as well. Had to edit Yoochuns stage name from Mickey to Micky..

Duuuude, what a way to find TVXQ. This was released on their 20th anniversary. Absolute legends of the 2nd gen. They’ve been releasing solo stuff in Korea the past few years (look up Max Changmin and Yunho U-KNOW, then prepare yourself for greatness), but they’ve also been pushing hard in Japan lately (they were one of the first Korean groups to break into Japan and still have a huge fanbase). Also, the song you’re reminded of is “The Carol of the Bells.” It’s not just you! 😁

That’s a duo. This is their 20th anniversary album. They did start out as five but it’s been just the two of them since 2011. And yep, Changmin whose skin you were admiring is 35. Yunho stage name Yunho Uknow, guy with the deep voice is 37. They debuted as teenagers. No signs of slowing down either. They are amazing.

TVXQ (can also be spelled DBSK, stands for Rising Gods of the East) are a legendary group, the kings of Kpop. They're the group that got me into Kpop way back in 2009. As all the other comments have said, they were originally a 5 member group and 3 members sued the company and left a long time ago (started the standard of 7-year contracts in Kpop lol), and Changmin and Yunho continued as a duo and kept being iconic. Yes, that was a Christmas sample in the beginning; they debuted on December 26, 2003 and they released this 20th anniversary album exactly 20 years later. In their debut performance they sang a Christmas song so I'm assuming that's the tie-in. Changmin was my very first Kpop bias, and still no one can touch his high notes. I recommend checking out his solo stuff (Devil, Maniac, Chocolate, Human - they all have MVs). Yunho has had some great solos as well, and he seems to be your bias lol. But Changmin's voice...can't be beat. Check out Down, from the same 20th anniversary album, it has an MV. You'll see what I mean about Changmin's voice.

TVXQ's "Rebel" is their lead track from their 9th full-length Korean album, 20&2 -- 20 years and still 2 members strong -- which was released on their anniversary, Dec. 26, as a celebration of their 20th anniversary. You now need to see them perform "Rebel" with the choreography live. You think it looks crazy in the MV, but they actually do most of that all live as well. If you haven't yet, you should also check out their pre-release track from this album, called "Down." And you definitely need to check out their Killing Voice performance. TVXQ truly are all-time legends in the music industry. As an SM Entertainment group, it's no surprise that they are outstanding vocalists. TVXQ was originally supposed to be a purely acapella group, so they all have amazing vocals. They actually have several acapella performances in their early days that really showcase how amazing they were as vocalists. TVXQ is one of the reasons why SM is known as a vocal powerhouse and why the company has come to be known for having some of the best dancers and vocalists in the industry. Here is some background to help you understand the dynamics of TVXQ better. TVXQ (English and Chinese)/DBSK (Korean)/ Tohoshinki (Japanese), which each are the abbreviations/acronyms of the words in each language that translates to mean "Rising Gods of the East," debuted in 2003 as a 5 member group. They are best friends with Super Junior and they pretty much all grew up together. Changmin is also best friends with Minho from SHINee. And Xiumin from EXO says Changmin was one of the reason why he auditioned for SM because he wanted to meet Changmin and become like him. As you heard, Changmin is known for his powerful high notes -- even more powerful than Onew or Jonghyun from SHINee or Chen and Baekhyun from EXO -- he literally has one of the widest note ranges of almost any Kpop artist. Tohoshinki (TVXQ) are one of the most famous singers in Japan as well, even among Japanese artists. And like SHINee and BoA, etc., they are so popular in Japan that they are considered part of the mainstream music scene. TVXQ has one of the biggest worldwide fan bases and they sell out some of the largest concert venues in the world. They are one of SM Entertainment's top selling groups, easily selling out concert tours around the world. TVXQ's fandom is Cassiopeia and their fan color is pearl red -- which is why you see one of the primary colors in most of TVXQ's MVs is red -- and when you attend a TVXQ concert you will see an ocean of red. Welcome to the Cassiopeia fandom. (Their fandom is named after the 5-starred constellation, Cassiopeia, because they originally were 5 members who were supposed to be gods who came from the stars.) Mirotic probably is my favourite song (which btw exists in another version by a german female singer, both got the song, when I found out about Mirotic it really sounded familiar). The motif they keep using is Carol of the bells. Crazy to think music written by a Ukranian composer as a New Years song in 1914 has ended up in some futuristic kpop song over 100 years later. You're right in that John Williams arranged a version for Home Alone, but the song is far older than that.

They are second gen and there was more members in the beginning but due to some conflicts with the agency most of them left years ago and it's duo since then. Both of them have great solos too.
