It's also first about Jesus' reactions with love towards His enemies, which is why they sing "one man betrayed with a kiss". Jesus' example, which MLK Jr followed. In the name of love. The song is 1st about Jesus. He came to justify and overthrow the devil's works. (1st verse) yeah U2 were HUGE hitmakers, you got that right

That's why in the first 2 choruses, they sing "one MAN in the name of love". After the verse in tribute to MLK Jr, they sing "one MORE in the name of love". First Jesus then MLK too!!!

You are right. U2 was the biggest band in the world for nearly 20 years. They have an awesome collection of great songs and one of the greatest albums of all time in Joshua Tree. All ages loved U2 it was crazy, but a lot of bands in the 80’s appealed to a wide age demographic. It was pretty cool. I miss being a kid in the 80’s, fun time to say the very least.

Duuuuude, U2 has so many great songs! They are the only band to have a number one album in four different decades (80's, 90"s, 00's, 10's) and probably the greatest Super Bowl halftime show. They were selected for the first SB post 9/11. Some songs you will like; One Tree Hill, God pt2, Hawkmoon 260, All Because of You, Dirty Day, Kite, Miracle Drug, Running to Stand Still, Cry/Electric Co. (live Chicago), Exit, Mofo, Lemon, Discothèque, End of the World, Love is Blindness, Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crashed Car, Please, Bad, Where the Streets Have No Name The Wanderer (with Johnny Cash), I Know I'll Go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight, and many, many more.

Glad you enjoyed the song. I have to be honest, one of the silver linings to this whole pandemic/lockdown stuff has been checking out different types of hobbies and interests. One of my favorite new pastimes is watching music reaction videos on KZfaq LOL ! I had no idea this was even a thing ! Look, it's just kind of amazing for those of us who are middle age to see a whole new generation of young people discover bands that we all grew up with. Whether it is U2, Guns 'n' Roses, AC/DC, Nirvana, Metallica, etc. - these acts were so huge; so dominant for so long (and most still are in terms of their touring viability $$$); it's just sort of charming really that newer folks haven't even heard of them. It's totally cool though; if anything, I envy you all! Just knowing the catalogue a band like U2 has; the sheer volume of music you get to explore all at once... that' pretty incredible and I will be interested to hear what you think of it all. Especially with a band like this who have experimented with so many sounds over the years. Cheers ~

Of course not but popular songs are the ones people usually suggest someone who hears a band for the first time. If he likes the introduction songs, he can do more from the band's catalogue. If this were a professional musician or something, then I would come up with more alternative stuff but these reaction channels are just for views and subs, therefore hits are the best way to get them.

Such a good song. You can go down a rabbit hole with this band. They OWNED IT in the 80s and 90s. Go for "Bullet the Blue Sky" live from Sidney (ZooTV tour) and "One" live from Slane Castle next. Just one suggestion, but between the two songs that you reviewed + those 2, you'll have a pretty good idea of what U2 has been about. Their songs aren't overly complicated, but the themes, lyrical imagery and killer guitar melodies are what they're known for.

Why stop there? React to the whole epic ALL I WANT IS YOU / WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME (Live at Slane Castle) video. The greatest back-to-backer ever with the sickest transition between the two. Bono never stops signing. You can hear him screaming out his father during the transition, who had just just died days earlier. U2 decided not to cancel the shows last minute on the 80,000 ticket holders, although Bono was still grieving. Ended up being one of U2’s most legendary live performances.

Check out the one with the original video where they’re in the snowy woods on horses. Omg. Gorgeous. Not sure if that’s the “official” vid any more, but it’s best. As soon as I heard/saw this song, I thought, man, this band is going to be huge. I saw them in the 80s, and say to this day, best concert ever.
