if you got this excited for a song and drum kit that flips upside down in 2023 imagine how this would have been viewed in 1987? Motley crue set the world on fire with their music and theatrics back in the day. The band is legendary.

I will never forget going to this concert Nov.13,1987. Guns N Roses opened for Motley. 2 weeks later Nikki Sixx "died" from a heroin overdose. Thought I was gonna lose my shit!

Mick has had that disease the whole time they have been together. The older they get the worse it gets. He played all these years in pain.

The Crue back in the day were a force to be reckoned with. When they came to town it sure enough was an all out, non-stop, party . Loved em back then. Still loving them today. I think it is so cool to see your generation discovering our music. Thanks for your reaction to it. And thanks for this little reminder of one of my yesterdays, dude. Stay cool. Keep-a-rockin. Peace. Later.

I was 13 when that came out ...I was such a huge fan of them that I got a drum set for Xmas ...and my best friend got a microphone and dyed his hair blonde ...my walls were covered in crue posters ... And of course back then you had to have a jean jacket with the full back patch !! Lol... Interesting..mick Mars had his guitar tuned a whole step down ....I still get goose bumps hearing this song and I'm now 48 !!! Lol

Enjoyed your reaction to this Crue classic. We were 15 when this video premiered on MTV in 1987. A lot of people today think this song is a party song. So far from a party song.

I saw them on this tour, two tours before, and the tour after this one. After that Vince the lead singer, left and it wasn’t the same. Any, Mick Mars, the guitar player, has to be the most underrated guitar player of the entire hair band days. Every song, EVERY SONG, had a great riff and solos. As for weapons, Mick played a bit of everything. His number recently is an older, well worn in, strat. The drum set would only come out in the drum solo. He played for maybe ~15 minutes and worked the crowd. It could roll 360 degrees left, right, forward and backwards… or any combination of those. It was awesome to see. I was maybe 30 feet away from Tommy, while on the front row of the left balcony. What the video doesn’t show is the speaker cabinets along the back of the stage doing their thing. Imagine this, they would play a song and then say it needed to be louder. Then three rows of Marshall 4x12 cabs would raise up along the back. All with lights on them. Someone running the sound gear would add a bit of power to the PA, and this would complete the illusion of the cabs adding more volume. It looked cool and they did it 3-5 times during the show if I remember right. By the way, this was in KNOXVILLE, TN sometime in the fall, maybe Octoberish, but not in December cause it wasn’t that cold. Anyway, the unknown opening band for the show was a wreck. The lead guitar player puked at least once… on stage. The lead singer ran off stage, on my side, and I saw him snort some nose candy, several times! This band had stuff thrown at them to begin with, but then they did some covers of AC/DC and Aerosmith then all was forgiven. You maybe of heard of these nobodies, their name was something like GUNS N ROSES! They were like watching a train wreck happening and I couldn’t take my eyes off them lol.

Just a head's up if you do go see them in concert. First, they put on amazing shows. The effects and pyro are usually top notch. Second, just understand they're not going to sound all that great. The lead singer, Vince Neil, hasn't been in shape for years (or decades, actually). So he apparently runs out of breath quickly. You know how bands do singalongs and let the crowd sing some of the lyrics. For much of Crue concerts, the entire show is like that. Vince will literally sing one line, have the crowd sing the next, then sing another line, and sit out the next, etc. I've seen him do entire songs that way. I saw them on their reunion tour back in 1997, and he was already doing that for some of the songs. So, the show will be over the top, the vocals not so much.

I’ve been a die hard Mötley Crüe fan since 1993 the year I was born, grew up listening to them since the beginning my favorite band, seen them 17 times since 1997, definitely wanna catch them with John 5 closest to Arizona is Texas so might have to travel but it’s not my first time traveling to see them and won’t be my last!! Since 1981 these guys kicked some serious ass out on the west coast Sunset Strip!! Around the Girls, Girls, Girls era Crüe were untouchable in the hard rock scene, Nikki Sixx (bassist) could write pretty much anything about death, drugs and women!! The album would reach NO 2 on the billboard 100 blocked by Whitney Houston it wasn’t until 2 years later Mötley Crüe would reach the number 1 spot with Dr. Feelgood!! 🤟🏽 These guys were the 80’s!! Long live Mötley Crüe!!

Drum set thanks to the US Navy. Tommy tried finding somebody that could make his dream a reality, but in the end it was a guy that served on a submarine, that had the know how to pull it off. According to an interview I watched.
