The thing is they’ve already listened to ‘Waiting On the Bus’. They probably just didn’t know you were supposed to play them both together because they’re listed as two songs.

'Jesus' in this song is the Chicago AM radio station WLS. On a clear night members of ZZ Top, when they were very young, could hear WLS clear down deep in Texas on their radio. That's how 'Jesus' left out of Chicago and you could hear it clear down to New Orleans. True Story!

@Greg Jones And then "You don't have to worry, 'cause takin' care of business is His name" is the cherry on top. Love it! Bought this album when it first came out & I was about 19. To this day it's still my favorite ZZ Top album. And "Waiting For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago" is my favorite of any songs they've ever done. Also saw them in concert that same year, pre-beards! Saw them again in the 80's but still love those early days. 💙☮💙✝️💙

Yes, absolutely! A hard second for Blue Jeans Blues! Much more contemplative and soulful pure blues rather than bangin' blues rock, but the guitar is much tighter and top-notch.

This is my favorite ZZ Top song - it's fantastically FUNKY! As other have mentioned, those of us that grew up with this song also had heard it with Waitin for the bus opening it up. They just go together and radio played them both because the record was pressed with both these songs too close to separate and gave DJ's a bathroom break.

This early ZZTop is the REAL deal. So heavy and funky. Always gets me - great Texas band. Maybe the greatest...nice reaction, y'all! Plus - they got their name from BB King. They wanted to reference him with 2 letters (BB-ZZ) and a word meaning the best (King-Top)!

There are only 3 bands I can think of growing up with just a drummer, guitarist and bassist that could put out such a full sound. Zz top, cream and band of gypsy's. You know zz top. Cream was Eric Clapton, jack Bruce and ginger Baker. B of g was jimi Hendrix, Billy cox and buddy miles. Btw check out band of gypsys live the song ' who knows' from 1970. Jimi Hendrix at his best.
