Love you brother. This is a tough one to watch. The reason 99.9% of us serve is because we love our country and love our fellow countrymen. I appreciate your reactions but this one is the best so far. Thank you.

I wont lie when I enlisted in 94 it was for purely selfish reasons, basically wanting a better life than what I had, after already putting in eight years I did the second eight for my brothers, men who had families, mothers fathers wives kids the whole shibang, I had no one to come home to, my brothers were and still are my only family. Semper Fidelis is more than a catchy phrase or motto, for some of us its all we got.

I'm a 2 time Afghanistan Veteran. I graduated basic training 2 days after 9/11. I was only 18 when I went over there the first time. It is hard to listen/watch this and the song "Gone away" I cry everytime but it was worth it to fight for my brothers and sisters. The people who appreciate our sacrifice makes it mean something. The few that say "Thank you for your service" is enough for me to know I did good.

This was by far the best reaction for this video I have watched. I am a 21 year Army veteran with PTSD and the hardest part for me was coming back home into what most consider normal. What we see in this society of people within this country today is far from being normal. FFDP, without question, brings light to subject matters that most want to turn a blind eye to. They have tried harder than any band that I am aware of to bring awareness to the masses of what veterans and those currently serving go through. They can’t do it alone though. I have wished and prayed with how much I love this band I could help them fight this fight. It would be another chapter in my life that I could serve those who so desperately need help. However, realistically I know I would never be able to get in touch with Ivan Moody or any of the guys from this band to explain how much their music drives me and how passionate I am concerning these issues. All I can do is salute them for standing up for us in the way they do and salute to you as well for such a genuine heartfelt reaction. 👍❤️ Godspeed

I'm an Army veteran, was a 13B, and I reacted the same way you did to this video. The final verse with the black guy in the business suit brought tears to my eyes. He went through hell to save his life, and in the end, he turns around to save him from himself. Very powerful imagery. I am grateful I was suggested this video, I enjoyed watching this.

The last scene shows the "duality" that occurs in veterans. Some vets come out of it just fine, some don't. BTW I was also a 13B, my last unit was 1/37FA, 3rd BDE 2nd ID at Ft. Lewis.

My Dad is a combat Vietnam veteran with PTSD. It made for a difficult childhood, but I am proud of him and his service. His physical and mental health issues helped prepare me for my career as a nurse with the VA. I treat every one of my veterans as I do my Dad - I fight for them to have everything they earned. They deserve far more than I will ever be able to give. At least in our area, the DAV provides rides to appointments for veterans that are unable to drive or don't have transportation; they look for volunteers to drive the vans. Our VA also has a Compassionate Corp consisting of volunteers that make a weekly call to veterans who are identified as at risk for isolation due to health or lack of resources. The phone call is just a way to keep in touch and let them know someone cares. There are ways to help that don't require monetary donations, just a little time and compassion. Thank you for this reaction - I appreciate your in-depth and thoughtful insight into all of the songs you do.

ya, let's thank all the vets who went oversees that killed and did other worse things civilians just because they weren't Americans, gotta love the good ole United States being bigoted racist that think America is the greatest thing on this planet despite this country being literal shit. My husband served as a helicopter medic in Vietnam was honorably discharged back in the 80s and when he turned in his 60s he asked for assistance and because he didn’t get shot or was a p.o.w. They couldn’t help him but at 77 he was diagnosed with hodgekins lymphoma stage 4 from his exposure to agent orange and only due to a lawsuit a few years earlier that a law was passed saying they had to help.

Thank you for showing your feelings AND MAKING THIS ABOUT THEM!!!!!!! Not “The Suits & Skirts” AND WHOEVER is in the White House when honestly its Congress mostly BUT THEY ARE NOT THE ONES FIGHTING!!!!! Thank you!!!!!! I know unfortunately what this looks like from their eyes almost because I know too many that are all the above. AND YOU ARE SO RIGHT & why I try to do a little to help. And about to try harder and I didn’t care who we weren’t supposed to hug in Covid if they wanted one (I am a miracle 6 or more times over anyways) I WAS GOING TO HUG THEM!!!!! I went to entirely too many suicides & funerals etc in the past 4 years and only 6 were “of age” just saying and of those 3 gave up because they couldn’t see anyone in Covid. It has wrecked me what we are dealing with CURRENTLY ESPECIALLY AFTER THE “pullout” overseas. I am talking about my friends and family aftermath and who I don’t know is alive right now because they went back “not suppose to currently” off the books....

Preach! You hit the nail on the head when you said that we are fighting for the country and not the government! As a veteran of 14 years, I only joined to help out people. I didn’t know anything about the government. Every single battle I know only cares protecting our families and this country. I don’t care what everyone else thinks, keep up the amazing work! This song always hits home for me and the way you reacted to it, it definitely hit home. This song always brings tears to my eyes. It takes a real man to tear up in front of an audience. P.S. these numbers are off. This was many years ago and most soldiers refuse to allow people to know that they have PTSD. For all those soldiers who I had just spoke about, please get help. It doesn’t make you weak, it makes you human. Do not allow PTSD ruin your life or your family’s life just because you’re stubborn.

First off thank you for your kind words to veterans and thanks to your family and friends that have and may still serve. One thing I think they would all agree with is that we aren't a special kind of person. We all have paths in life and every path needs to be traveled as equal people. My 27 years was what I consider the most beloved years out of the 60 I've lived so far. Now my focus and drive is time with my wife, children grandchildren and friends. Many that serve don't get that opportunity. In the end I'm no different that you or anyone living their lives with a goal and desire. 💞🍻

I respect and appreciate you even more, than I did. I hear you ! You have me in tears Guy, I do not cry, crying is for the weak, I am not weak, I was raised in the south to be respectful and proud ! They spit on my father when he came home and called him a baby killer. my Dad has war related PTSD as well. But he sleeps like a baby, he told me " I dodn't kill any babies or Momasitas ( women), and begged me to believe him and cried, my Father doesn't cri, he taught me not to show my weakness to anyone ever, I always have his six ! Salute

Thank you. Not many of us come back mentally. I'm still there every time I close my eyes. VA doesn't help much without many hoops. I've done and seen many things that will never be declassified to public knowledge. The stance of refugees, illegals over fixing the veterans will forever be unfathomable to me.

I served eight years in the Marines and Desert Storm combat veteran.thank you for heart felt reaction.when we go to combat,we fight for the brothers at our side and watching them die or seriously wounded you never get past.your brain gets rewired and we come home and nothing makes sense and everything seems like a threat.still to this day I don’t like someone walking behind me. When I got home my wife divorced as she couldn’t handle the PTSD and the nightmares I would have.now in my 50”s I live alone,no wife or kids, just me and my dog. We were trained not to show weakness so many of us don’t seek help and try to cope in bad ways.i have lost three brothers by their own hand. What keeps me up at now is this.when I die and go before God and ask why did you kill my children,we are all his children, what do I say,it was my job.we will all be judged.

My family has a long history of serving and we are very proud of that. One of the hardest things I've ever watched was my grandfather, a WW2 veteran and POW in his final years of life. He had alzhiemer's and all he could remember at the end was storming the beach at Dieppe. I was 12/13yrs old and would sit and hold his hand as tears finally flowed for those he lost. He was 87. He carried those horrors with him in silence for over 50 years.

As a wounded combat vet. I would like to say THANK YOU for keeping the message going. Lost more brothers and sisters to their own hands. Then ever in combat. The biggest problem with PTSD. Is misdiagnosis. It's not that most are mortified by their experience. They miss it. Kill or be killed is understandable. Living life is a foreign idea. Took 3 months to turn me into a killer. Took me 6 years to learn how to be a civilian. An still working on it 30+ years later.

My dad was a combat veteran of WWII, Vietnam, and 2 tours of Korea, he was a VERY loyal American till the end of his life, which ended with him drunk and alone, fighting his PTSD on a level no one understood including himself. My family is military minded and we support all branches and all colors, it’s only the correct thing to do I also spent 23 years taking care of a combat Vietnam Veteran who was paralyzed from the neck down, not from combat but a car wreck when he got back He and my dad both had major PTSD and would relive their battles on a nightly basis, hard for them and hard for our family, it’s real and debilitating for those whom don’t or can’t get help quick enough I appreciated FFDP so much for bringing this to light with this emotional video and music I was crying like a baby watching what they lived😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 Thank you Ray, you are much appreciated for highlighting this 🫶♥️🥰

The wrong side of heaven is how alot of us Vets feel. We have done and seen things no man or woman should ever see so we do not see ourselves deserving of heaven. The righteous side of hell is because we did those things for good reasons. That's why most Veterans will say we will see you in Valhalla, its heaven for warriors.

I am a combat veteran, two Iraq tours, one in heavy combat. I wanted to say thank you for this amazing reaction. So far this is the beat reaction I have seen to this video from a non veteran. It is unfortunate that the situation ever got to this point to begin with. I really appreciate the love and appreciation that you have for our veterans. Even other vets that can help are failing to. I could probably do more as well. I have a reaction channel as well, only had it for close to a month, lots of Ren and friends and Jelly, MGK and more. Probably 40 videos. Hopefully you will go and check it out. And I would love to have a conversation some time, on or off the record, about vets or reactions or smoking or whatever.

Two words..... Thank you. Thank you for taking the politics and BS out of it and putting the focus on where it is deserved...our Vets. I am a 100 percent disabled veteran and I have watched this video probably 50 times and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye. All of us, all of my brothers and sisters, we all served because we believed in a better future for us and every American out there, we also wanted to ensure that our families and every family out there now and in the future would have the same rights and freedoms that our founding fathers fought so hard to provide us. Even knowing how my life would turn out, I would choose to do it all again in a second and I would proudly stand with my family against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Thank you so much for showing your respect and gratitude to the men and women who truly deserve it.....for this alone you have gained a follower. To all my brothers and sisters out there....never forget that you are loved and that there are so many people who care about you and respect you......stay strong!

Preach, my brother! I'm a 72 year old veteran of the Vietnam War. I've seen this video many times, and I cry every time. This is a tough video to watch, but it's a story that needs to be told. One thing people should know is that this is a pretty old video; the numbers they quote are very low. The numbers are much higher today. A wise man once said that there are no unwounded veterans of war. Some wounds can be seen, but many more cannot be. We all are wounded! The Vietnam War ended about 47 years ago, but I have been called a "babykiller" and a "war criminal" in the last year. I used to think that the hate would end in a few years; now I know it won't end until we're all gone. My war will not be over until I take my last breath. Until that happens, all of these haters can just kiss my a** and f*ck off! Peace, my friend!

My father was in the army 82nd Airborne for 20 years & did 2 tours in Vietnam, he caught malaria and got shot in the back twice. All of our soldiers were treated like shit when they came home from Vietnam & you're right it's sickening. My father had PTSD although it wasn't severe he still had it and thankfully my mother stood by him no matter what but too many soldiers don't have that support & it's just completely wrong. My father, my uncles, my cousins & my grandfather have served in the military so I have mad respect for all soldiers & it doesn't matter what branch, whether it's active duty or a veteran because like you said they went over and did something that we couldn't do.

I'm retired Army, 20 years and four deployments. Life is simple over there. We understand it. Complete the mission, stay alive, bring your buddy back alive. Back here everything and nothing is important. Sometimes I'll just sit and watch people trying to figure out if they have any purpose, if I have any purpose anymore. Ok. I'm adding to my comment as I watch the reaction. The cop car? Not only did they take the cuffs off but more likely than not they transported him to a crisis unit - not a jail. Unfortunately we can't help them until they are ready. The VA has some outreach, they also have domiciliaries for homeless vets. The VA also has some peer positions but we need more. We need peers - troops who have gone through it and come back out - on the streets, in the homeless camps, finding out guys who have slipped through the cracks.

We sign on the dotted line and were promised that we would be taken care of. Most only ask they this country do what they promised. We didnt do it for government, we did it for its citizens...so that they could live the lives that they were promised in the Constitution. I have deployed only once..Most here have deployed multiple times and have come back forever changed. A we are fucking failing them!!! Thank you 5finger death for putting this out and thank you sir for doing this reaction. To my brothers and sisters in the Armed Forces. Stay strong keep fighting for you..for your loved ones. We don't want a handout we want an equal chance to live a normal life when we get out. When I got out a friend had her uncle (president of a bike club) waiting for me in the parking lot. They took me in and made me live in their clubhouse and saved my life. Semper Fi to all my warrior brothers and sisters out there, until we meet in Valhalla to drink a horn together.
