Her name is Marie Fredriksson. They were a Swedish duo. It was actually Per Gessle (the guy singing and playing guitar) who wrote the song but Marie's vocals take it to another level. For me she is unmatched. They have sooooo many songs, mostly all by Per. He is a master songwriter! Just a few are Spending My Time, The Look, Joyride, Anyone, Stars, Fading Like A Flower, Dangerous, Listen to your Heart. Per is taking Roxette on a world tour next year, starting in Australia and South Africa, with a guest singer, It will be bittersweet without Marie 😢

Did you know that this melody was originally intended as a Christmas carol? Named - Christmas For The Broken Hearted (1987) which was a newly composed Christmas carol in Sweden. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rt12gZSA1ZunYY0.html which is a song that Roxette did before they rewrote it when a movie producer wanted a tune for a movie that had the working title like "1000 Dollar Girl" and the rest is history
