Dion was supposed to be on that ill-fated flight with Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and Big Bopper. He refused the flight because the $30 cost was monthly rent for his parents. He was only around 19 at the time.

Dion started out with the Belmonts in the late 50's-60's. They had some hits including "No One Knows", "A Teenager In Love" & "Where Or When". Dion went solo & had some big hits such as "Runaround Sue", "The Wanderer", "Ruby Baby", "Lonely Teenager", "Donna The Prima Donna" ,"Drip Drop", "Lovers Who Wander", "Little Diane" & "Abraham, Martin & John".

This is their performance on the daily TV show "American Bandstand" w-Dick Clark. Look up American Bandstand & you'll get a lot of footage of the kids dancing, which guys & girls danced together & were considered "couples" -- some of the kids became "famous" -- had a huge fan club & put out their own little magazine about the goings on w-all the kids from the show. Also see some of the singers who appeared on the show such as Chubby Checker.

"Kd Lang - Constant Craving (MTV Unplugged)" (by the channel: Nonesuch Records) --This song was written by Canadian singer-songwriter Kd Lang and is from her second solo album called "Ingenue" released in 1992. Kd Lang is a Canadian pop and country singer-songwriter and occasional actress. Lang has won Juno and Grammy awards for her work. It was fun rocking with you, AB. Thanks for sharing.

Oh yes, @AB the Kreator Some great songs by KD Lang like the suggested Constant Cravings. Her performance of Hallelujah at the Olympics in Vancouver 2010 will take your breath away and her duet with Roy Orbison of Crying is oh so good!!!

It all depended what the producer wanted and where the performance was. This looks like it was filmed for American Bandstand show, because they are all chewing gum. (Show sponsored by a gum company they gave out to the audience).
