I am an old, old school country guy and absolutely love Ren. Literally love every one of his songs. Ren is by far the most talented artist ive seen and heard over the last 50 years of my life. He can do everything. He writes his own lyrics, beats, plays multiple instruments at a high level, raps, and sings beautifully, and he can beatbox all while battling sickness and staying humble.

He is quite versatile, plays lost of instruments, is independent and quite supportive to other musicians. Here is some additional information on Ren's story from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's livestreams and posts where he discussed his condition. Ren Erin Gill is a British musician/independent artist; born in Wales on March 29, 1990; he eventually moved to Brighton. Ren pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures. In 2010, he was signed by Sony Records and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point where he was unable to continue; subsequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is currently in Calgary, Canada for more treatments, including surgeries, and will have to be there for at least six months (Summer of 2023) undergoing IV and other interventions five days a week. Ren recently underwent wisdom tooth removal and cavitation surgery. In addition, his Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Now, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition. Let's keep supporting Ren as he undergoes his treatments. However, his goal was very conservative and did not reflect the added costs of unforeseen surgical procedures, and treatment for additional health issues such as MCAD.

Was wondering when you'd get here...Was not disappointed. The story behind Ren, is that he contracted Lyme Disease, and was promptly misdiagnosed, was told that it was all in his head, and was prescribed heavy psych meds...for years...as his Lyme Disease went untreated and unmitigated. He finally got to see real doctors, who realized what was happening, and he's now in treatment for all the damage done, both by the Lyme Disease and by the psyche meds, which alone, will seriously warp a mentally-healthy person's mind. Welcome to the rabbit hole ;)

The line about "she sells seashells shells" is a reference to another one of his songs "Money game part 2". A song you hopefully will react to as you go down the rabbit hole. Every single song of his is 🔥. Most reactors next either react to "Sick boi" or "The tale of Jenny and screech (Full version)". If you thought this was musical theatre, "Jenny...." and it's plot twist at the end should definitely impress you. To hear more of his actual singing voice, listen to both "Chalk Outlines (live)" and "How to be me (live)" some of his songs are extremely personal and heavy in regards to subject matter (eg "suicide") while others are simply nothing but celebratory fun (eg "what you want"). I’m a 58 year old eclectic music lover with extra love for 80’s rock. I love Eminem and Tupac. I wasn’t sure I was gonna like this guy and ended up ugly crying through the next 25 times I watched this video. I absolutely love him and his raw talent and honesty is sooo needed right now.

Hi Sushi, lovely to see you again. As a palate cleanser please see Ren having a good time on the streets of Brighton with his band The Big Push doing "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop", a mashup that is seamless and has great energy.

I remember as a teenager, one night praying and reading my Bible. I felt that God was calling me into ministry - specifically, counseling. When I heard my mom come home, I ran downstairs to tell her. She told me, if this is true, than be prepared for the devil to work overtime to destroy your joy. Sadly, in my life, the devil won. But, when he talks about “shouting into a void that he would defeat the forces of evil”, and that he suffered the consequences for the next 10 years, I SO related to that. I’m glad that he’s been able to use his pain and suffering to be an impact on millions of lives.

For older and more pop sound and one of my favorites is Humble (feat Eden Nash). A more fun side would be the track Losing it. While the song Animal Flow is good, the video is a must watch for the detail of it being a one shot music video. To continue on the theme of this song, Sick Boi is the one to react to.

The bit about hope always makes me tearful. Ren is all genres. He can do everything. His song 'Su!cide', for his friend Joe, who jumped from a bridge 13 years ago, is the most raw, heartbreaking thing you'll ever listen to.

Misdiagnosed with Lyme disease for 7 years by conventional doctors who deemed him mentally ill, but when patients are experiencing neurological symptoms, they very often become misdiagnosed. I am voting for The Hunger next. It really highlights Rens bars and his ability to rap. Its more upbeat. Its easy to go down many of Rens other “therapy” songs but for your audience they need to see his many other talents. He is far better than NF et al. He is up there with M&M. Loved it! ❤

Ren is so inspirational and talented it’s crazy. I found him about a month ago and I’ll a 57 yr old grandma that suffered for 8 yrs before I was diagnosed with Lupus and his music hits my soul 😢💜💜 When he says “I was meant to be broken” I first heard that is when I actually started healing. 💯

This is art of transcendent beauty and an *important* song. Artists often struggle with imposter syndrome. There’s a movie starring Olivia Munn called “Violet” that rings of this and was a transformative experience for me… just as this song also resonates. As a person who’s never been able to escape imposter syndrome and negative self-talk, *realizing* that I can exert the strength that destructive voice questions-strength that I *know* I have-was sooo important. It takes time to push past the negativity-to make your own voice stronger, but if anyone out there is struggling with this, please please please *know* that you can do it. *Know* that I believe in you… but you don’t need me to-just like you don’t need the shroud of doubt that feels first of protection and then as a prison. You are *stronger* than that voice. You are stronger than you can *possibly* know… until you push back with softness or aggression-your choice.

As someone who discovered Ren with this song as well and I let the song marinate and when I discovered him busking with Sam Tompkins then him talking about "where's ur top 10 song and interview with Oprah" and when I listened to his other bag I realized that Ren got layers on layers Next song I know 150% you will love by itself but mostly get you more interested in what him and his crew have to offer. Liked your reaction :) You'll want to read a bit about Ren online to understand where he is coming from more. Long term illness that was misdiagnosed. He has many gut wrenching songs. Among my favorites are Crutch with Bibi and Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla. He has some very fun and lighter songs too. Bongo Bong with his band Big Push. What You Want. Losing it. Many more. One of his trippier songs is the Jenny, Screech, and Violet trilogy. Best to watch the version where the 3 are edited together to get the whole story in one go and in the right order. Ren is crazy talented and impossible to give any single genre label to. He's an emotional roller coaster to experience, but he's very, very real.
