I am so glad I stumbled upon this reaction. It is refreshing to see someone get introduced to Ren, without Hi Ren. And it is better to see Ren's introductory song to his album can hold its own without any background story etc.

Wow what a place to start 😂 so much is explained in Seven Sins that would make more sense as you go back over his catalogue. The guy is a genius, seriously a one off. Modern day musical miracle. 99% self produced written etc

Glad you enjoyed the track. Ren has so many flows. He's not only a hiphop artist, he's a multi instrumentalist spanning many genres. He has a great singing voice and his lyrics are poetic, thought provoking and startlingly honest. His album Sick Boi came out this week. There isn't a bad track on it. Some stand out tracks before this album would be Hi Ren and the Tale of Jenny and Screech (3 related tales in one 13 minute video). He was in a band called the Big Push, and also did some great collaborations with Sam Tompkins, Chinchilla and Eden Nash, amongst others. Check out his 1 million subscribers video to see what kind of person he is. You'll be impressed. He also explains a bit of his back story there too. The United Kingdom is made up of 4 Nations - England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. According to the 2021 census, the Welsh language is spoken by 17.8% of people in Wales, either as a first or second language.

Theres a whole love hate thing between the 3, but mainly anyone not English take special offence at being considered English. Ren’s overarching message is getting past these ridiculous tribal and self serving behaviours, to make the world a better place for all.

Last December Ren released "Hi Ren". It now has 20 million views. A lot of us renegades were first introduced to him with that song. Ten months later Ren is #1 in the UK as an independent artist. Phenomenal achievement. I highly recommend "Hi Ren" as your next song. You need to understand the depth of his talent. Blessings.

The United Kingdom is a political term and it includes the following countries: England, Scotland, Wales (where Ren was born) and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is the collective name for England, Scotland and Wales (it does not include Northern Ireland). I am both British and specifically English, while Ren is British and Welsh.

I won't ruin Ren's entire story for you, but here's a small sample: Ren is an independent artist who does everything himself. He doesn't have management, and he produces almost all of his own beats and music. When Ren was 19, he contracted lymes disease, which was then misdiagnosed for the next 7-8 years. Any references you hear in his music to being sick or feeling crazy are his actual life, not just catchy lyrics. He is currently in Canada getting treatment for his autoimmune disorder caused by the lymes disease and is slowly starting to feel a "normal" person again after the 13 years he mentioned in the song. Most of his current music was all created while he was actively battling all of his conditions.

Ren is an amazing artist! Check out Hi Ren to get an idea of who he is and then any of his other songs. If you enjoy flow switches, check out The Hunger - 10 flow switches in an approx. 2 min song! He is so talented and is genuinely a great guy who inspires a lot of people. His fandom, the Renegades, is the kindest and most supportive group I have ever encountered. ❤

For REN, this was truly his reality. Ren had misdiagnosed Lyme disease for 7 years by conventional doctors who deemed him mentally ill, but when patients are experiencing neurological symptoms, they very often become misdiagnosed. Lyme disease can present itself as many neurological conditions including Acute Transverse Myelitis[3], Ptosis[4], Seizures, and Chronic Fatigue[1] and these symptoms can be often misdiagnosed or deemed psychosomatic. Second is dealing with the symptoms of Lyme neuroborreliosis, these neurological symptoms often leave patients feeling drained and debilitated as they begin losing their quality of life. Over time, patients find themselves unable to do the things they love as they struggle to get ahead of their progressing symptoms.
