I've heard so many negative comments about this bike but, I am in Love with it. I want one badly!

Hi thanks for the video , so good to see someone that owns one of these bikes doing a video on it. I have been in two minds whether to buy one or not ! My riding theses days is Sunday runs and the once or twice a year doing a week away on it and I think this bike would be perfect for me. Love ❤️ the looks , takes me back to a dt175 I had back in 1982 .

Just found your channel and subbed!! Man I have a YamahaSCR 950 (same color as yours) that I take on dirt gravel fire roads in the Colorado that I have done a few video of. Wow, never went in deep mud, you are a brave soul. I am just to out of shape wrestle the cycle to such terrain. Great stuff, much respect to you good sir!!!!

Thanks for this video. I've owned mine for a year but have yet to take it more off road which I really want to. I love this bike though. I found it as a matchbox vehicle (toy) first and fell in love when I actually found one brand new 0 miles.

Great fun review, looks like a fun bike too. I did the Honda Off Road 2 day course on an Africa Twin. I fell off the most times but enjoyed it tremendously. Worth having a look at

Good stuff man. That was pretty ballsy riding right through the muddiest part of the trail, I'd have taken the easy way on the packed stuff for sure. Are you still on the stock tires? Theres not a lot of content on the SCR950 so it's nice to see someone making videos. Keep up the good work.

Wow that looks like a tough road for this bike. If you ride on more like this, you may want to remove the mirrors. After i broke the mounting point of one on a dual sport, i always take them off in a situation where the bike might fall, or even just lean a lot near trees and stuff

you did well to get that bike thru, at 250 kilos its over twice the weight of an enduro bike , for wales a wr450 or 250 is for you , no doubt about it.

I keep looking to buy an SCR, do you have any regrets buying one? I can think of a few reasons not to buy but I keep coming back to this bike, probably because of the looks. Hope the offroad course goes well for you!

I really like these bikes and dallied when thinking about buying one. Now they've been discontinued. I am considering trying to find a good secondhand one in northern Thailand, where I live nine months a year. They are heavy. Is the weight carried low? I have subscribed.

You picked a very difficult trail for beginnings but don't give up trying. You will need more confidence and carry more speed to ride out these mud puddles. Don't try to steer a 252kg bike to find an ideal path. Enter slow, let the front wheel find the lowest point under water and use reasonable gas to ride through it. Keep your weight back and try to balance it. It takes a lot of practice and you WILL drop the bike while learning. I dropped mine about 4 times during offroading and I have ridden heavy adventure touring bikes offroad but this is just different. If you visit a trail riding school, they will probably tell you not to right the SCR offroad (much like the manual, which only says that to shrug off liability if you damage your bike). The SCR can absolutely be ridden off road but you need to respect its limitations, which is ultimately its low ground clearance, narrow tank and short shock travel. Weight is not a problem and you will learn to balance it out. The Super Tenere 1200 is over 260 kilos and no one doubts its off-road abilities. On the SCR, you can't use your knees to grip the tank like on an adventure / dual purpose bike, because it's too narrow and the pegs far apart. This makes it tricky to control in muddy terrain. At all costs, avoid rocky trails. Get the Yamaha bash plate to protect your oil pan and oil filter. I hit the chassis underside very often when off-roading. What I love about the SCR (besides the looks:) is its long wheelbase, firm suspension, low center of gravity and its seat positing with more control over the front (unlike the Bolt). These together make it fast and stable through all kinds of roads and long stretches of dirt roads. This is one of the last universal classics with an air-cooled V-twin! Not expensive to get, easy to do your own maintenance, fun for all types of riding! If you have had different bikes before, you have to adapt to its unique design a little bit.
