I never played Catan before and Junkyard wanted to get us all in, lets see how we do!

I love that for once Junk is the one doing the teaching and not the other way around. It's nice considering that he can get frustrated learning a new game and here he has veteran knowledge.

Given all the jokes about Junk being the "old man", it does fit that Catan would be the game he'd be knowledgeable about.

I was going to say the same. Finally a game where Junk can shine and school everyone else. He was pretty nice about it as well. I feel like he could have screwed them all over very easily

Chilled's port strategy actually paid off holy shit

It's a terrific strategy, because it lets you avoid giving the other players any benefit. The trick is having good access to *generating* the resource *and* having the port. You definitely shouldn't race to a port like he did when there's a contested 6-corner in reach, but Cheesy chose to cut off Ze instead of rushing into the opening...

Yeah, midway in the game, I thought it was it just Ze and Junk fighting for 1st and 2nd. Didn't expect Chilled to comeback from behind.

I feel bad for cheesy. Getting trapped in this game it sucks. Hopefully he doesn't put both of his beginning settlements in the center between everyone again.

Ya it’s definitely tough for beginners I remember when I first played I put mine right on a port but I got blocked from a lot of other key resources

Oh man, my dad and my brother and I played Settlers of Catan absolutely to death. Eventually my brother got so good at it that he literally always won. I got him one of those custom trophies that said something like "Eternal Catan Champion" and we vowed never to play it again, lol.

Can't beleive chilled couldn't play perfectly on his first game! LITERALLY UNWATCHABLE! /s Great seeing some new games, Catan is good fun once you get your head around it, though I couldn't get on with that particular software :( hope you lot play a bunch more some time!

This was actually much more enjoyable to watch than I expected. To be honest I have NEVER played this game and it taught me how to play and now I think im gonna go buy it. Thanks Chilled!

Its always a joy to see people play this game for the first time. As Junk says, no two games will be the same. I'd love for them to play again with new knowledge and what kinds of strategies they experiment with. Also games will go much faster as they'll get familiar with maritrades and seeing their win conditions. Game length is usually contributed to trade negotiations based on my experience Catan is a classic, and i hope to see another match again :)

55:20 Cheesy only had 5 cards and he was offering 2 sheep and 1 whear for 1 brick. If you took that deal he would have been left with 1 brick and 2 other cards. He cant possibly road + settle or road + road. Either way that was a good deal for you and should have taken it 😅😅😅

Also I'm pretty sure chilled did a little fib by telling cheesy there was no point because chilled could cut him off. Cheesy thought he meant chilled could build a settlement and chilled kinda didn't dissuade him from. Thinking that lol

More Catan games please. Even moreso tabletop games. This was a fun and learning game experience for me. Never played it before. But I love learning new games. Thank you, ChilledChaos and friends

I doubt Chilled we see this, but if they continue to play games like this of simialr style/genre, I hope they try Dice Kingdoms. Can olay with up to 8 players I believe

They really need to put a time limit on the turns. Everyone taking 5 minutes per turn that should be less than 1 minute.

Such a great game. I been playing the same Settlers game on Steam for last couple years and it is a great game, even with it's ongoing bugs. I played the actual board game almost every week with buddies for years back in my high school days.

Love to see you play this Chilled! I'd recommend if you play it again to use colonist online instead, it's more smooth of a UI and is easier to learn/use!

Ah, Catan. Lots of memories with this game. I don't think we ever played more than a half dozen games of vanilla Catan though. It was always seafarers and Cities&Knights, maybe even houserules.

If Junk built 3 roads along the coast around the 2 hour mark he wouldve regained longest road and end the game. Starting at the 9. 6 roads down the coast to the 3:1. +3 to connect to the settlement between 3/6. That gives him 9. Then follow the 5 roads to the 8 gives him 14. He would have to do that last as Ze has the opportunity to make 15 around the 4. 2:02:46

Very glad to see them play this. Haven't even come close to finishing the vid yet, but I hope to see more of this from them. However. That's not clay, those are bricks. Didn't know I had this as a pet peeve until now. I don't care what the official terminology is. Those will always be rocks. Similarly, its really weird to hear them call it "stone" instead of rocks, haha.

Catan is my favorite board game 2.5 hours is crazy though I can usually get through a game in like 30-45 minutes learning for the first time can def make it take longer though

my family got me into this game and it can be horrible and fun. Beware of 6 player games it's easier to get trapped with no chance to win! This xbox arcade version is still the best video game setup I've seen for catan. It will usually default initial setup to the best spot for rolls and you can actually use a trigger to show a number for each space to show why when debating to place differently.

Sadly back when Internet explorer was moving to IE 11 they were using built in software to make an easy to play Settlers of Catan game that looked the same. But then microsoft scrapped a lot of it and made Microsoft Edge browser with the game left as vaporware; due I think to massive security vulnerabilities in widgets and such.
