Roar of the Spark is a song that carries elements of both Holy Orders (Be or Be Dead) and Magnolia Eclair, Ky’s themes from Guilty Gear XX and Guilty Gear Xrd, respectively. You’re diving into a series with a quarter century of history.

Just want to give a heads up that it's okay not to vibe or like some songs. The best part about Guilty Gear's OST is that Daisuke goes absolute ham and experiments with different genres of rock and metal. Because of this, there's bound to be stuff you're not gonna really be feeling but also be random surprises of things you'll really like.

Additional fun fact: Find Your One Way has a music video that was released for the games first anniversary, and the same people who animated it are helping with an upcoming anime for GG

fun fact: the male singer for most (if not all) of guilty gear series (yes, SERIES) vocal songs is Naoki, and he's not a native English speaker, his range is pretty great, you can search the GG Xrd's vocal songs for some of the different genre sung by Naoko

Quick info dump, this music is SUPER reaction friendly, i even use it as music for my streams so you dont gotta pause or anything lol And the lyrics and music all represents to the character itself PERFECTLY in the story

I definitely think knowing some story/lore elements elevate a lot of the themes in Strive, as these were the first time the ost were basically all songs, like how May's is about her love for Johnny or Ky's talking about him being a king and needing to lead as one along with hints of older games/lore. Strive music does pop off hard, definitely excited to see you play strive!!

You have to get the experimental music mindset to truly enjoy GGST songs

Once you get to Nago's theme I recommend listening to crawl right after it because that was originally his second theme when he was the only boss character in the game

one thing to note about strive themes the general consensus is that the more you listen to the osts the better they sound edit: people have quite literally said that this is a $40 album with a game attached (also loved the reaction to chipps theme (one of my favorite themes in the game) song goes hard)

Im so happy to finally see a reactor appreciating the disaster of passion lmao, so many people hate the "anime vibe" is has going on when it's in my opinion a really good and catchy song

Yeah strive songs are really lore heavy, so song lyrics usually are either metaphors for or directly tell a characters story. It’s cool because it kind of gives you a look into the characters backstory.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who loves "Disaster of Passion", most people hate it and it makes me sad. :(

Out of the Box Sols theme took a lot of listens for me to really fall in love with it so I won't fault you, but I WILL fault you for Armor Clad Faith lol that's an instant classic for tons of ppl I like going over each characters stories in the comments of videos like this but I couldn't possibly for the amount of characters in this video lmao, but I can try to give background on the world of Guilty Gear On December 31st 1999, right at midnight, an event known as the Dawn of Revival took place in which a mysterious entity from another dimension attempted to manifest itself into reality through human technology, causing tech everywhere to go haywire, but then as quickly as it happened, it ceased. Humanity feared they were moments from extinction in that moment, and as such distrust in technology spread. In humanity's darkest hour, a group of mages called the Apostles revealed themselves to the world and introduced humanity to magic, a clean, limitless energy source that could be used to replace old technology, allowing normal life to be resumed and even surpassed without fear. Fast forward to 2014, a trio of scientist collegues named Fredrick Bulsara, Aria Hale, and "That Man" were researching fusing magic with biology to cure things like diseases and aging. This research was named the Gear Project. The 3 collegues were great friends, and Fredrick and Aria were in love, but one day they learned Aria had been hiding from them an incurable disease she contracted. Fredrick and That Man both wanted to cryofreeze her and work on a cure using the Gear Cells they were working on, but Aria just wanted to spend the time she had left with her 2 greatest friends. That Man took drastic action, and implanted Gear Cells into Fredrick, making him the first human Gear, to prove to Aria that a cure was close to being found. Fredrick, feeling betrayed and in a fit of rage, destroyed their lab and fled. Aria nevertheless seemingly agreed to cryosleep at that point. The Gear Project was closed but then reopened in the 2060s by the US military, and That Man managed to get into the group that was now conducting it. They created living bioweapons using Gear cells, living but without a will of their own. They then made a commander class Gear called Justice which could impart her will onto other Gears, controlling them. Aria Hale was used as the human base for Justice. Upon her activation in 2074, the same entity from 1999 appeared again and corrupted her mind, and began to attempt to manifest again using her. That Man gave the order to fire Justices Gamma Ray to stop the assault, which ended up destroying the entirety of Japan. This event sparked the 100 year long war known as the crusades, where Justice would wage war with her squad of Gears against all of humanity. The Sacred Order of Holy Knights was formed to fight back. Kliff Undersn was the longest running and final leader of the group, and he brought both Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske into the Holy Order. Sol was a mysterious bounty hunter that had saved Kliffs life when he was a child. Unknown to everyone at the time, Sol was in fact Fredrick Bulsara the scientist, all these years later. Ky Kiske is a French war orphan who Kliff found running around a battlefield one day. Ky became a prodigy in the Holy Order, by age 16 he was one of the highest ranking members. The crusades eventually ended with Sol, Ky and Kliff backing Justice into a corner, where then a sealing spell was used to seal her in a dimensional prison. 5 years passed and rumors spread of the seal cracking, so a tournament was organized to find new warriors to face the threat of Justice if she ever broke out. The winner of the tournament would recieve any wish they wanted, a prospect which motivated every character you saw in this video, plus a couple more, to enter the tournament. Sol TORE thru the competition, and then it was revealed the whole thing was a farce orchestrated by a human Gear called Testament who was under Justices control still. They organized it to find a powerful blood sacrifice to break Justices prison. When Sol defeated Testament, they used their own blood as a sacrifice instead, bringing Justice back into the world. Sol fought her, and against all odds he defeated her. Justice was perplexed by the fact that Sol was a Gear that could resist Justices control, to which Sol revealed his origin as the first human Gear to her. Realising the implications, Justice laughs and laments that she wishes they "could've talked more", before dying. This set in stone Sols goal: destroy all Gears, and find and kill That Man. Sol, the Guilty Gear, stared at his bloodsoaked hands and prayed, prayed for the soul of the grotesque sacrifice lying at his feet. And that's just the plot for the first game! All of that crusade stuff is the background set up for the tournament which was what the first game was about, and then the following games in the series continue from there. By the way, by the time of Guilty Gear Strive, the year is 2187.

Among songs for characters that were on release theme of Potemkin is by far the most favourite for most people, after that theme of Milia and Chip.

idk i've always been the kind of guy who likes every song that's thrown at him. i dont usually discriminate, and i especially love the GGST OST. I have no dislikes in that soundtrack. no ranking. Everything is S tier besides maybe "perfection can't please me", which is A tier. that's the only song that's *slightly* below for me. everything else is just fine, and i would recommend checking out the soundtracks in the other guilty gear games, especially Guilty Gear Xrd. apart from that, having such an open taste for music makes me feel left out sometimes when other people listen to the same songs and dont feel good about them. But at the same time, it's completely subjective. nobody has to like every song that comes at them like i do, and I appreciate you giving them all a good chance. GGST Soundtrack is bangin.

Sol Badguy's theme is very much dad rock, lol. Most Guilty Gear themes mix genres at least a bit, but some definitely fit into their niches.

Im cool with opinions but man you must have hated Your one way because the continuous trashing and curb stomping of my goat hurt my soul lmao To be fair though, it did take a minute for me to really appreciate it, and the lore definitely helped lol

Happy seeing more people getting into GG's soundtrack, but you should stop overreacting. It simply comes out as jarring, forced and made on the principle of "I gotta shake my head every single time I don't know what to say". And I mean no disrespect
