This original is by far the best version imo. Less is more. Sadly it loses out to a constructed one with 4 times as many views, which by all means is well made, but not the one reactors and others should go for.

@@rogerandrus1806 I don´t know, but that would be my guess, if it´s not a backing track. Imo the RR version is a piece of art, while the RMX one with the original backing track is interesting, but takes away the magic. The video montage at the end becomes to me a Hollywoodized tearjerker. Not a fan of that.

Also, about a month ago she released a photo of herself sitting in a classic 60's car with the caption "it's a wrap" - perhaps hinting at a music video for one of the songs on her album - mostly likely the first single.

When Whitney and Mariah sang it, it became a battle of the diva's both showing their impressive and incredible voices. Angelina took a different path and sang it softly and delicately and bringing out the message of love and hope. Angelina at age 15 took on two of the most famous divas in pop music. She sang both parts with NO effort and delivered a more touching, emotional performance than the two ladies that took this song to a “I can sing louder than you” contest.

The original is more like a duel than a duet and they smile each time they get a good shot very often. Angelina says it is about the song not her. She smiles only at the end when she is pleased with her performance.

There is a recording of a rehersel when she is 6, singing and reading the lyrics in english at the same time. So she is very smart and knows how to touch our harts and souls. But her singing is super and every song goes in a box and is her. A lovely whitch she is, she puts a spell on us.

Hi Britt 👋. Awesome reaction to 15 Angelina. She definitely understood the assignment. For Angelina's beliefs are also tied around it. As long as she and her family don't get seduced by the industry, they'll be fine. (IMOP, I like Angelina's version better, for I believe it portrayed the message of the story best. You can really hear, as you put it, the care and love she put in it.) 🙂🙏❤👍. God our heavenly father has a plan for her and you can see she's patiently caring it out. @Britt (comment at 1:46 ) Angelina said that her breath control is like, ''blowing out candles''. She was teaching her little sister to sing. It was on a KZfaq vid. Angelina was like 10-12 years old or so.

Exquisite. Angelina's ability to decorate the lyrics with just the right touch of emotions is pure genius. In this case, she truly relates to them. You once pointed out, her words that she read from her book, how it felt to help another human being, "seeing the light".. I believe her; she lives for making a change, positively contributing to world conditions.. she BELIEVES! This is why, as you so aptly stated, she's able to validate the lyrics with understanding and care for what they mean. From the youngest age, built on her GIFT.. she KNEW it was her destiny.. BUT, she uses it to contribute to the betterment of children and world condition... They launched her to the world at the FIFA Awards and a new album will be released soon (they say it will contain only originals) - by the end of the year everyone will know Angelina's greatness. She will be in demand everywhere, from TV all over the world, to fashion shows and many directors will want her voice in the soundtrack of their films. Despite her superpowers, enormous productivity and hard work, the stress may be too much even for Angelina.

The cool thing with her is she is already acclimated to much of it. She's practically starting professionally with a Best of Box Set , at 17. Plus engineers have her listed in the one take club. I think she's got it set to sing as she wants and not so much as most adults with mortgage, kids, addictions, etc do to compromise artistic integrity. That takes a lot of pressure off.

A very good example of why autotune is not a good idea but a quality microphone is. That soft, breathy tone - just heard on Moon River - is so beautiful. Britt, excellent reaction! There are four wonderful young ladies whose extraordinary music I've been following for about 3-1/2 years now (just prior to Covid's "grand entrance"). They are Angelina Jordan, Amira Willighagen, Laura Bretan, and Lucy Thomas. They are all absolutely incredible! AJs grandmother, who we know is so important to AJ's musical journey, is not only an artist, but also a published poet. I am certain that she would have been sure to tell AJ to look for the meaning behind the lyrics in the songs she sings and to try to know those meanings when singing a song and to convey those feelings to the listener.

In the movie, this song happened when Moses'mother is taking her baby boy to put in a basket and into the water. So tender and so sad having to do this to your baby so he wasn't killed. Angelina, just as you said, really gets the tenderness and sadness and yes, hope .. and miracles.

As you usually do, Britt, you sensitively honed in on the message of the song that Angelina delivered and meant. I bet she was thinking of that barefoot orphan girl she met years ago in the far east when she was 6 years old. The girl was weighing people on a bathroom scale to make some money to feed her siblings. Angelina was curious to know what she wanted to be when she grew up and she told her that she would like to become a doctor but couldn't see how it could happen. Besides giving the girl her favorite green shoes she told her to never give up on her dream, i.e., who knows what miracles can happen when you believe that it could happen. When the girl asked Angelina what her dream was, she told her she wanted to become a superstar and to sing for the world. The girl told Angelina that she would pray for her every day. Angelina went on to write a book about their encounter, Between Two Hearts, when she was 9 years old becoming Norway's youngest author. Her grandmother beautifully illustrated it. Angelina says she often thinks of that girl, which is also why she offered to sing at many televised fundraisers for homeless children. To date she has helped raise millions of euros of support. That is why she continues to sing barefoot, until all children have shoes and clothing.

Britt, This was the first post by Republic Records after she signed with them... an "introduction to the RR family". I love the way her voice flutters like a bird when she sings "summer Birds" (4:18 in this video). I love your reactions...You "get" AJ so well. FYI.. you mic has been overmodulating when you get real close to it and your headphones are on for the last several reactions.

AJ has more current rendition of this song on KZfaq.. it’s about a year old and she has a leopard coloured top on.. look it up on KZfaq/ Martin UK also has it on his channel.. she also has a short rendition of this song this year were she is singing it outside with her old friend the guitarist were she sings it in a much lower register and using her breathy tones that we all love... Angelina is now well known to remix or upgrade her own masterpieces, specially as her vocals keep evolving/ maturing with age like, fine Wine..

So happy you found this one Britt. This is right into Angelina's pocket and I agree on her being able to emote! It's been a while since I last heard this one. Mainly because it's not one of my favorites. Reactions to it are relatively rare, and when I come across them, I often skip them. The song itself doesn't mean anything special to me (I'm sure I heard it when it first came out, but I never saw the movie or heard the soundtrack album), and I don't have any particular connection to the two artists who originally sang it (although I do own multiple CDs from each). Here's my point: listening to Angelina's performance again just now, I am kind of amazed at how *expertly* she sang this. Holy crap! I had forgotten how good this was.😁
