Ahhhhh, Fake Love! This song is off an album series called the Love Yourself Series. There were four albums: * Love Yourself: Her - Fated love, both romantic and other types of love * Love Yourself: Tear - (both tear and in cry and tear as in ripping apart) When love goes wrong * Love Yourself: Answer - The real answer is to love yourself first * Face Yourself - One of their Japanese releases with remixes of songs from the series in Japanese and some original singles on the same theme. This song is from Love Yourself: Tear. On its surface it can be taken as a story of an unhealthy romance. But the lies being told are not from a romantic partner, they are from themselves being told to and about themselves. The lie is lying about who you are, because when you lie about who you are, you don't really know who you are, and so you cannot be real. If you are not being real, the love is also not real. So, the source of the fake love is themselves. But the song is also a treatise on fame as they struggled to maintain their authenticity as artists amidst all the public pressures to please others. It was, like a lot of their songs, addressed to ARMY as they wanted to maintain their openness and honesty and, at this time, they had been hiding some of their pain and struggles from us as their massive growth in the industry really put a lot of pressure on them. This is a time period when they actually thought about breaking up as a group, just from the pressure, and they also wrote Outro: Tear as part of working through that anguish. The choreography here is heavily storytelling and amazing. It's worth watching the Dance Practice video to see the uninterrupted choreography. A person pulled by strings and controlled by outside forces. Look for the arms thrown out like a marionette, the juddering starts and stops, the raising up on the toes and falling back to their heels, the way they pivot or take various puppet poses. At one point Jimin is in the center moving his hand like a puppeteer and all the rest are following along with the movement of his hand. Also look for moves making a mask of their hand, as though wearing a mask and holding their throat as if unable to speak or being prevented from speaking. In the extended version of the MV and some live performances of this song, they also all put on actual masks at the end. There is also a series of dance moves that illustrate Hear/See/Speak No Evil, covering ears, eyes and mouth. These are all references to lying or not speaking your truth. In the beginning of the MV, when they are silhouetted in the puppet poses, you see a large artwork behind them with hands. The hands are a depiction of the hands of a puppeteer, in the correct scale for BTS being puppets. But if you look closely, they are also a stylized representation of the Hear/See/Speak No Evil hand positions. Here is one of my favorite live performances of this song, which is from Korean TV. It has a great dance break in the middle that really showcases the puppet theme. Like all their live performances, they are singing and dancing live of course. Fake Love was my first MV my twin granddaughters showed me and I was blown away yes I know about fake love and it hit hard I later discovered that each prop was from the BU a fictional story the snickers that everyone is drawn to if from J- Hope fictional story that his mom abandoned him at the carnival and gave him a Snickers candy bar.The figure at the end you need to face yourself and all of the good, bad and ugly to move on. When you want sad boy vibes, look up these songs, Spring Day a song about tragic loss, ( for this make sure to check out the Explanation Video by Italian Army, for Spring Day, to understand the very deep meaning behind it). Another song to look at is, Let Go, this has only live performances, it was about a time when BTS nearly broke up, the song and dance routine is so beautiful. Then check out Truth Untold, done by the Vocal Line, simply touching. Finally after all the sadness if you need a song that will heal and carress you, check out the Live Performance for Serendipity at the Tokyo Dome, that is by Park Jimin, you will feel loved and hugged by this charming love song. How could I forget "Shine"? Another amazing song and it's the song that got them more recognition. They're a very underrated group, but they have some great songs. I wish they were more popular in the US. They're so good.

I know these song probably won’t be requested much, but PLEASE react to “Attack on Bangtan” the dance practice and “Jump” the live concert version(preferably in that order) Bts debuted on June 13th, 2013 and Attack on Bangtan came out on September 11th, 2013 so it was a very early song, and the vibes are just so much different, they had a lot of pressure on their shoulders not knowing if they were gonna be able to make it in the K-pop industry, and it just brings so much to the songs. I really love all of Bts’ songs, but their early songs with forever have my heart💜 it would be really cool if you could react to them!!

My suggestions on solo work are Suga/August D Trilogy: Daechwita, Haegeum & Amygdala mv. His finale concert is going to be in theaters April 10 and 13th. I would suggest you go. BTS does it all. I love their dance tracks like Fire, Not Today, and Dope. I love their artistic tracks like Blood Sweat and Tears. Their creativity and quality of their music videos is amazing. My top 3 tracks when the guys did solos or collabs are: Jungkook - Standing Next to You (with Usher). Taehyung - Fri(end)s. Suga - performing under the name Agust-D has a trilogy saga. These 3 videos are like mini films and Suga is a stunning rapper. If you want a fun track that Suga did a collab on, try That, That by Psy. Suga is also a producer and brought the song to Psy and Psy convinced him to collab with him. Psy is the dude who did Gangham Style way back when. That That is a banger dance track. 3:48 Welcome to your first glimpse at the BU (Bangtan Universe). 😊 The Snickers have something to do with a storyline interwoven amongst some BTS videos and other content. I haven't really looked into it much. I just know if something weird goes on in a video, I just assume it's BU related. If you want to look into it, there should be some info on Google and the comments section should have some advice. Not sure if it's been mentioned, but BTS stands for BangTan Sonyeondan which translates into bulletproof boy scouts. So when you hear Bangtan it's referring to them.

Some of RMs solo songs should be up your alley like Moonchild and Forever Rain. Also Sugas So far away (the version with Jin and Jungkook). J-Hopes Daydream and Ego may be interesting as well for you. I also recommend Born Singer, Baepsae, Ddaeng, Blue and Grey, Promise (Jimin), Begin (Jungkook), Inner Child (Taehyung), Go Go, Awake (Jin), Save me, I'm fine ... and 50 other songs. But let's just start somewhere. And when you know more of their older songs, we can start with the newer stuff, like their solo albums. I imagine, you may like the albums Layover, Indigo and D-Day.

With the Snickers there is a whole HUGE story line running through some of the BTS stuff for years now. Its called the BU or Bangtan Universe and this is a BU related video and the snickers, fire, water all tie back into those members characters story lines.

I was asking my kids about which songs fit the genres you mentioned in your initial BTS reaction and they said a lot of V's solo work could be considered lofi. Hybe just released a song from him (they pre-recorded a lot of stuff before enlisting) last Thursday night. If the lofi comment is inaccurate, blame my kids! Lol! I'm rubbish when trying to identify genres. If the new song doesn't fit, give Rainy Days or Singularity a try. I have favorite songs amongst all their solos, but I'm not sure if they fit the requested genres. J-Hope's More might be considered alternative. Maybe Arson as well...? Their earlier work might be considered underground, but definitely hip-hop. No More Dream (debut song, horrible cc on the official mv), Danger, We Are Bulletproof pt2, and Jump are some good ones. I tried to Google what trap sounded like (Lol! Like I said, I'm rubbish at identifying genres). Autumn Leaves (aka Dead Leaves) is a possibility. Fun fact: When Jung Kook was running and the floor was falling .... it really was. He had ropes (or whatever it's called) attached to him for safety. It isn't CGI. There are videos for behind the scenes for almost all of their mvs. Also there are the words "Save Me' written on the mirror or window, if you invert it, it says "I'm Fine". For lo-fi smooth jams you'd probably like songs from V's solo Layover album (eg Slow dancing) or his solo BTS song Singularity. RM also has some more chilled songs on his solo album Indigo (eg Seoul). For sad boy: I highly recommend you do The Truth Untold -- BUT DO A LYRIC VIDEO. A lot of people recommend the live performance first because they're excited to show off live talent, but to really feel the lyrics without distraction first, definitely do a lyric video.
