Actually this anime has one of the coolest character inspirations I ever seen in anime world. It's characters are actually inspired by famous novelists and writers. To the point they actually retained their real names. And on top of that their powers are actually inspired by the books they wrote, how cool is that? It's mostly japanese literature but down the road it expands to the well known oversees authors too. It is very awesome anime and I would deffinitely recommend checking it out! It kinda is even cooler if you know the writers or even heard about them beforehand but I went to it without that knowledge and then got very interested in exploring japanese literature and learning about this authors, the same with my sibling, it inspired them to check the real books.

the fact that the singer of grandrodeo, from the first song, is also the voice actor of chuuya (the small guy with the orange hair and hat) makes this so much better.

The Case Study of Vanitas is AMAZING anime about vampires in steampunk victorian era France! Their openings are pretty calm, but enjoyable nonetheless

Honestly, this anime deserves all the love, it's amazing, all the characters and the story. You would definitely love it if you watched it. I would say it's one of its kind. It starts off like something pretty... normal I guess, doesn't look that special if you're a veteran anime watcher BUT it gets better and better, making it special and different. Easily one of my favourite animes, and some of my favourite characters from all time too. I highly recommend it, even if you wouldn't watch it on camera. Definitely worth watching.

Luke, Bungo Stray Dogs is a fantastic anime!!! Without spoiling, a general description, picture a society with a super-powered mafia vs.a "questionable police force. Now picture an old-school gumshoe detective agency caught in the middle. Now picture that the Detectves are all super-powered versions of Japan's greatest writers.. No, there are no vampires though. Case Study of Vanitas, however, is a vampire anime and a fairly decent one but more a political one than a scary one. It deals with conspiracy in a vampire hierarchy within the real world.

As someone that has watched over 600 anime (combined between series, movies and OVAs), I can honestly say that Bungo Stray Dogs is conceptually one of my favorites out there. It’s not a perfect anime by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s still a really cool anime. Even despite all the action and drama, I think one of my favorite things about this show are the scenes featuring the interactions between Atsushi (white haired main protagonist) and Kyouka (girl that wears the red kimono). They are just so adorable together.

I think you'd really like the Kuroko no Basket openings. I believe the band from the first and third OP of this did a couple from Kuroko and most of them slap. Also Bungou Stray Dogs is fantastic. Anime fan since I was a child here…I only started Bungou Stray Dogs almost exactly a year ago. It has easily made one of my favorite shows of all time. A large part of this show and its cast is directly drawn from IRL writers. The names, personalities and powers are all authors, based on the authors actual personalities/lives, and references to their works. It's a great show without any of that context, but if you do have the context it is a whole extra level.

Hihi, me again!!! Super happy you checked out the Stray Dogs openings, it remains one of my primary recommendations for anime newcommers, it's so good!! Seems everyone has already given you plenty of info on the show so I won't ramble about that but I will say that it's a super cool concept for a show!! Case Study of Vanitas is definitely a good one to check out next, it's relatively newer as well so the animation is CRISP. In terms of OSTs I'd definitely recommend Puella Magi Madoka Magica (please excuse the long name, it's one of my all-time favourites)! The opening (Connect) and ending (Magia) themes are very good but the OST really is something else, particularly any of the following songs: Sis Puella Magica, Salve Terrae Magicae, Puella In Somnio, Pugna Cum Maga, Decretum and Symposium Magarum. I genuinely believe it has one of the most unique and mesmerising soundtracks I've ever heard, Yuki Kajiura's work in general is absolutely breathtaking!!!

This anime made me fall in love with literature on an international scale. Every character is based on a real life author (same name, often same personality and their powers in the anime is based on their famous book titles or concepts. They role in the anime, whether they die, how they die, etc, are all influenced by their real life counterparts' lives. We've got characters like Mark Twain, Melville (Moby Dick), Fitzgerald, lovecraft, and more, and of course japanese authors like Dazai Osamu (who's suicide attempts in real life converted to him being a suicide maniac in the anime), Oda Sakunosuke, and so on. Dazai and Chuuya apparently hated each other in real life but still agreed with their societal views😂 Dazai, Oda and Ango were a real trio- they founded the literary movement "Buraiha" where they wrote against the government, against injustices, about the aimlessness of WW2, the hypocrisy of their gvt, basically being troublemakers In their country through their writing. All 3 thus got bad reputations but merely told truths that others didn't dare say or realise. Dark realities of the world. Their corresponding roles in the anime are thus really, both fitting and ironic to me. There's much more to these infos and this anime, but i better stop my nerd rant for now XD Just- its a Great show, especially knowing the depth of it.

Lead singer for GRANRODEO (artists for Opening 1 and 3) is Taniyama Kishou, who is also a voice actor and one of the characters he voices is Jean from Attack on Titan. GRANRODEO is definitely up there as one of my favourite anime bands.

this anime is so so so underrated and its my favorite show. You should 100% watch it, the openings and ost is amazing, the characters are so fun and well written, the mysteries that the show presents are intruiging as well as the story and the animation is amazing i love the way they animate the actual powers 10/10

Bungo stray dogs starts out very funny but actually kind of intense. People don’t realize how intelligent it actually is - at the core, it’s an exploration of morality and humanity, but it’s hilarious, too. All of the characters are extremely deep but somehow it doesn’t depress or overwhelm you - so for psychology/philosophy nerds like me, we can choose to read into it, and for the average person who doesn’t want to think about it - they can choose not to. It’s a perfect blend, imo. Bsd’s world is very down-to-earth, characters actually use guns! Wow! And In the latest manga chapters, most of the threats involve plans to sabotage the economy, and subsequently cause the next world war. And it’s not anxiety inducing at all, and it has the bsd flare to it that makes it very very entertaining and very funny. Even the most depressing characters are peak comedy - dazai is the obvious example. He is an intricate character, and there’s at least 10 layerscould of characterization to him. I could ramble for hours on end. Tl;dr bsd is very complex but it’s not overwhelming at all and it’s just perfect

Yay Bungo Stray Dogs Op2 is the best ever!.

Bungo (sometimes spelled Bungou) Stray Dogs is a great anime - lots of fun but also gets dark at times. I think you'd like it. The singer for Granrodeo also voices a character in the anime and he's a fan favorite. Try the openings and endings (2 each) for Spy x Family - good songs but also I think you'd have fun watching the anime as well.

You should see the character song of Chuuya, his VA is the main vocalist of Granrodeo and I'm headbanging with how awesome it is. Taniyama Kishou is great as always!

bungo stray dogs is based off of classical authors its really good and if you're curious the whale was the moby dick. you should check out the endings too. also if you havent you should listen to the Moriarty the Patriot's intros.

I have two comments, but I’ll keep it to one. In any case, BSD is one of the animes I keep coming back to, almost every year, and is also one of the few I have no clue if I’ve finished (I think I may have finished it, but it was about two or three years ago, and I’ve been too busy to completely watch it again. Still quite a fun one, though. Also, second comment, there have been two series I’ve been debating to ask about a reaction for, and those are Zankyou no Terror, or Terror in Resonance, and the World God Only Knows. They aren’t exactly action based, so I don’t know how much you’d enjoy them, but I’ll leave a brief overview of both (without spoiling the shows): First, this show is quite interesting, and the strategies used by the main characters make it fun to watch. Also, the ost is really cool. Now, Zankyou no Terror is about two boys who plan and take actions of terror (I don’t know what words are allowed in comments). The reason they’re doing so is a spoiler, but each action they take is skillfully done, you can see how they decide their actions, as well as how the law tries to stop them, and it’s kind of like watching two skilled chess players (the law and the boys) try to outplay one another (though a bit more exciting than chess, in my opinion). Also, the ost is so amazing, and the characters are so realistic. It’s also quite dark, though not exactly horror-dark, just dark and grim, I guess. I can’t really figure out how dark it is. As for the second one, The World God Only Knows, it’s the one I was debating the most. First, the main reason I thought of this one is because the openings (there’s three opening, but all three could be considered a single song. It’s incredible) and the music from the ost. The World God Only Knows is a romance anime, but with a bit of comedy (not considering it to be a romantic comedy, though). It’s about a student who is REALLY into video games, and who considers themselves the God of Conquest (I don’t know how to explain the title). Once getting a challenge from someone unknown, the MC is forced to try and make girls fall in love with him (the reason is a spoiler), and he makes use of different games he’s played, and the knowledge of playing games, to achieve his task.

Bungou (boon-goh) Stray Dogs is about a private detective agency made up of people with special powers. At it's core, that's it. They solve cases here and there. There are other factions that get involved as well like the Port Mafia. Like TMNT does for artists, Bungou Stray Dogs does with writers, naming characters after famous writers. They go a step further and base the powers off of their namesake's literary works.

I watched Blood Blockade Battlefront right after Bungou Stray Dogs and it was pretty good with some great music too! The first ending is one of my all time favorites. Highly recommend. Also recommend watching the actual music video for the band.

Case study of vanitas is essentially a vampire hunting anime that takes place in the Victorian era. It’s very colorful and artistic, and the op is very unique but amazing. It’s flashily like demon slayer. Essentially a vampire and a vampire doctor team up to cure cursed individuals. It touches on various folklore and mythology it’s a very good show, and I’m pretty sure season 3 is already confirmed
