Believe it or not . Chris was actually on a bluegrass band “ the steel-drivers” and actually moved from Kentucky to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University to go for his engineering degree. Then decided he wanted to give songwriting a chance . But clearly with his vocal talent he was definitely meant to share that voice with all of us.

Ha! I knew this song would give you a whole new range of faces! Chris takes his influences from country, blues (loves Etta James), classic rock, Snoop Dogg, southern rock and, yes, gospel. That's why he's so unique! There's a great duet with Chris and H.E.R. where he is absolutely thrilled to be singing with her. He has collabs with P!nk, Jennifer Hudson, Carlos Santana, Justin Timberlake... just ... what? I will be fascinated with his music forever because there are so many facets. Enjoy this rabbit hole, you're just at the top of it. ❤️ (He does have some upbeat stuff, too!)

Medley Duet with Justin Timberlake of Tennessee Whiskey 🥃/I Can’t Drink You Away CMA’s not sure of the year. 7. Live Duet with Jennifer Hudson at some awards show can’t remember the songs. 8. Tennessee Whiskey live performance at Austin City Limits. 9. Official Music Video Fire Away 10. Official Music Video Say Something Duet with Justin Timberlake. 11. DeathRow live performance at some country music awards show. There’s much more and before he became a singer he was a master guitarist and songwriter for many famous artists across genres so you probably know his work. Apparently Chris's TN parents listended to Waylon Jennings,Willie Nelson as well as blues soul and R&B and he has spoken about as a High school kid groovin to Snoop and Dr Dre as influences.. He also did a great tribute to the great Aretha Franklin after she passed ,and said 'we lost a LEGEND today and the best vocalist he's EVER heard before singing one of her great hitsas tribute. Might want to look that up on YT also.He has SO MANY musical influences from his early days from old skool country to Prince, Aretha!. Truly a generational talent. Check out some of his early Blue grass band music which is fantastic with the talented bands the Steel Drivers and the second band the Jompson brothers both great bands and the talent ans skill is brilliant.

Please watch Chris perform Tennessee Whiskey live at Austin City Lights...that performance definitely needs the church towel!! The man is amazing! He also did a live performance at the 2015 CMA's with Justin Timberlake that I think was the best live performance...ever!!

In an interview he says that his two biggest influences where Gregg Allman (Allman Brothers) and The Queen….Aretha Franklin. You gotta check out his tribute to her the night she died. Amazing. The other to check out is “Whipping Post” by the Allman Brothers.
