I can confirm with full certainty that it is not green screen when they climb Arthur’s Seat, because I was at the top of Arthur’s seat when they were filming it!

Yeah I agree with what you say at the end - you notice the difference when all the creators are in love with the source material - it's why Heartstopper is doing so well.

Sooo glad with this reaction! Loved that you are giving extra input and not just reacting to it. I saw this series without knowing the book or the movie, and the ending wrecked me! Ambika and Leo have raised the bar so high for chemistry that I cant appreciate any other romcom at this time (if you can call it that given the tragic ending). You have to watch it all sis! don't mind the story at the end...it's about the journey. Like a good dark chocolate - It's bitter, but sweet and all the goodness of a fine chocolate.

I haven't watched the movie but I know anyone who prefers it is just an Anne Hathaway stan cause no way you're telling me they developed the characters even better in a sub 2 hour movie compared to a series where they really took their time😭

I may be in a minority but I wasn't a fan of the film. I LOVED the book and it devastated me, then the film I just found a bit meh....for want of a more descriptive word 😂 but this TV adaptation, gosh I just adored it ❤

@justhana4779 I found the portrayal of the characters in the series a lot more relatable. I felt like the film tried to 'nice' Dex during some of the points in the story where he was meant to be more 'hateable'. I love Ann Hathaway as an actor but I just didn't connect with her portrayal of Emma sadly. I wouldn't say I didn't like the film, I was just hoping for more. The series gave me the 'more' I was hoping for.

I totally keep thinking that view is green screen! But since they've said they actually filmed at Arthur's Seat, there'd be no reason for it to be, but seriously doesn't look real!

@@justhana4779 I have to say, after watching the show through finally, I rewatched the movie. I think the emotional beats hit harder in the show (possibly because of the shortened timeframe of the movie). When I watched the movie the first time, I had just watched a really heavy movie that I thought it was a romance. Then I put One Day on thinking it would be lighter. What a mistake!

@@justhana4779 Okay, I've watched the whole thing now. So I won't have any more spoilers. 17:08 - 17:10 "short lived" gave things away for me. "Tragic" was kinda spoil-ery too, but the whole thing is tragic tbh.
