Selena was born in Lake Jackson, Texas. Lived and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. The boy band was The Barrio Boys, and they are of Puerto Rican descent from New York City. One of them became one of her backup singers. You can see him on her right on the Live from the Astrodome Concert. Selena is an All American girl and learned her Spanish songs phonetically, until she learned to speak it in her late teens. Her first language is English. I'm an older person, I remember watching her as an early teen all the way up until her death. I saw her once in a concert in 1993. She was a true entertainer. She is truly missed.
