this anime is quite dark if you read WN and LN (I feel less sense of anything in the adaptation, like.... uh. The only thing I like about the anime is how Aoi Yuuki makes it look good). Masive Spoiler : Kumoko (the spider) is basically a nightmare for humanity if they don't stop her, but her actions are the best for greater good

Yeah the ln is one of the best I have read... Except for the ending... I'm not saying it's bad but... It felt kind of anticlimatic...

First ending - Kumoko is confused, scared and is going mad from all the terrors she encounters in the labyrinth. Second ending - Kumoko is literally T-bagging her opponents and eats anything on her way!

slime had it easy he went trough the cave like in game easy mode but she had adventure hole 6 or more episodes in dungeons to lvl up and she was the underdog there hiding from stronger monsters and smallest mistake could have led to death, she like played game is hard core mode

she/spider starts weak but becomes OP, she is thrown in to what is bear grills survival on steroids situation when she wakes up as spider she looks cute to us but other see it like other spiders are shown to us and its displayed few times in the series by showing us the even trough other char eyes

Pretty fun show. I hope they adapt more someday, as I haven't read it. It did feel like wasted potential a bit, I'm pretty sure there was a myriad of production issues because you can kind of pinpoint exactly when the budget vanished, or whoever they outsourced their animation to decided to really phone it in.

It's not like the budget vanished, they got data corruption on the last episodes and rushed on doing it again from scratch while trying to respect their on air spot ;) not sure i' have explained well but i hope so!

subtitles for the ending song would give so much context to the story of Kumodesu lol gist of the story is that a classroom in japan suddenly gets nuked by random explosion because plot reasons, and all the inhabitants in the class end up being reborn into a new world, taking on traits or identities that basically defined who or what they were in their past life for the memes. For some reason, "Kumoko" (the spider) reincarnated as a spider monster in the depths of the world's most dangerous dungeon, and being the introvert that she is, she will do everything in her power to return to a quiet lifestyle. In the anime, we're explicitly told which student the spider used to be in like episode 1, but its left a mystery for a while in all other mediums, hence her community-given "Kumoko" nickname. One of my favorite light novels, but the anime is a bit mid aside from her VA carrying the show lol. Light spoilers that can get your brain juice flowing: Notice how I never referred to her as the main character

3:02, lets just say the other reincarnations who reincarnated as humans think they are heroes but in reality are mislead so yes spider becomes the real hero, first she only thinks of survival OFC and doesn't give a SH about anything else until she discovers the truth about that world, u can say she gets the Apple of Eden/forbidden knowledge

i lost track of slime near s2 end and i was just "who was this again" so i didn't enjoy it very much i liked arifureta too but the isekai trope like, similarities, arifureta by being one of the classics, got burnt out by others having more things

@@mangouschase s2 was good though s2 part2 first half 2much political talk, though it is informative but some ppl did get bored from it so they complained, but still overall isp1 and p2 a lot of scheming to from enemy i did some digging some time ago, i like to spoil some things to myself, 2curious lol SMALL SPOILER BELOW: Rimuru's plan is to make awry nation depended on him to the point he would have power awry Kingdom (i would say this would make Rimuru in to shadow Emperor, shadow emperor as some1 who rules the world behind the scenes/from the shadows, cause end result looks like that's what he would become if he succeeds), he want it so he could create peaceful world, Ethiopia is hed coal, some1 wants peaceful world to but this individual is trying to go overlord path but with scheming/sabotaging/making bad things happen, while rimuru is light that individual is dark, tip this individual is also from same world as rimuru becoming 2preductive and advanced, hes trying to use it to make other kingdoms depend on him 2much, production means also trade

The anime so far is pretty generic in terms of fantasy, and mediocre animation (though they had some production issues). The light novel however goes waaaaay deeper, around book 5 or 7 it really goes off the rails and the world building is amazing. Despite the issues with the anime, the Aoi Yuuki really carries the show and it’s worth it. I just hope season 2 picks up a bit.

Man they know nothing of the great story with its many twist and turns i wnat them to react to the actual show cgi not always on point but the overall story makes up for it
