Born in 85 and so lucky to have lived through the 80's and 90's. The attitude towards life back then cannot be compared to anything nowadays, musically and film-wise at its peak. People back then celebrated, everything was allowed, people were looking forward to the future. Despite technical progress and the compulsion to create something new from old classics, there is nothing special about it. The magic isn't there. My motto: create your own style, fashionable and musical and even your lifestyle. These songs are timeless. They take you to a distant world, for a few minutes you forget the here and now. That's the magic and the singers needed talent to become famous back then. Completely different from today. I don't need time travel, I still live in the style of the 80's/90's. It's all in your hands. Your channel is awesome, keep it up.

They are british. Songs from the Big Chair is still one of my favorites albums, and this one is one of the best in the album. Tears For Fears is great. This also played in a 80s movie i watched a lot growing up, Real Genius (1985), it was on HBO Brasil all the time during the early 2000s, with some 80s specials sessions.

It's more of that cool British vibe again.... Tears for Fears did a Duran Duran and confused us by setting their video abroad. From Wikipedia: " It was filmed in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, a desert in Southern California, the Salton Sea and Cabazon as well as a London studio. Curt Smith (principal singer on this song) admitted to Pitchfork that the video shoot was a 'disaster.' There was an accident while filming the "dirt bikes and four-wheel [sic] off-road vehicles" scene, with one child flying out of a vehicle and smashing his head, leaving him unconscious." Personal favourite video is Head Over Heels, because it's set in a rather whacky library. This song, or quite often it's cousin Everybody Wants To Run The World, often gots rolled out during marathon coverage here. The running version was released for Sport Aid, a charitable event held to raise money for famine relief in Africa in 1986.

They are British. The video was directed by Nigel Dick. It was filmed in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, a desert in Southern California, the Salton Sea and Cabazon as well as a London studio. This song was one of the quintessential songs of the 80s (at least, to me). The original song title was 'Everybody Wants to go to War' (it was a commentary on the Cold War, which was prevalent in the '80s). Meanwhile, the 'happy' sound of the song and the catchiness of it gives it a deceptively carefree vibe. I think you reacted to Tears for Fears' new single, 'The Tipping Point', a few weeks ago. This song, 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' was released in 1985, so they were only in their 20s back then. These two were high school friends who formed Tears for Fears in 1981. They are releasing their new album next month and touring it, as well.

I would love to see you react to Beth Hart. She is a phenomenal singer. Won best blues singer 3x!. I suggest any live performance of hers or any with Joe Bonamassa. They are very special together. Plus your comments are usually deep and Beth Hart is extremely deep. She sings from her heart and touches our souls. She had an extremely tough time in her earlier life, and she tells us in her words and performances in same way Pink can and does. Beth has an Incredible live voice!

If you'd like a powerhouse song from Tears for Fears, I'd suggest Woman in Chains. It's absolutely captivating and a bit of a mindblower. And for your own listening pleasure, I'd suggest giving their album Raoul and the Kings of Spain a listen. It's lush, intelligent, beautiful and stunning. Although I bought it in 1995 when the album was first released, I continue to play it at least once a month. Anyway, more Tears For Fears please!

I really appreciate your open honesty in all your videos cause whilst I do enjoy your deep takes on songs sometimes it's just fun to enjoy something for what it is. Your self analysis/regulation is very cool to see so honestly and openly. Much like TV/Film etc it's good to have balance between the serious and the just plain fun. That doesn't mean it should be dismissed so easily as even Britney Spears has real depth of lyric and meaning particularly foreshadowing her own future. Odd example I know but hopefully you get what I mean. Also please do check out Tears for Fears Sowing the Seeds of Love, classic anthem. Keep up the awesome work. Love from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤️

As I recall, "Songs from the Big Chair" was already wrapped up, when they wrote this song. They already had "Shout," "Mothers Talk" and "Head Over Heels." In other words, this was already going to be a very big album, for them. But thank goodness, they made room. That decision was even more important when you consider that their next release took a psychedelic turn, and there's no way this track would have found a place there.
