FYI -- The Eastlink Bridge, featured prominently in the video, connects the North and South side in Dublin. I believe this is a reference to The Troubles, as it is/was called in Ireland -- the North against the South (Catholics v Protestants).

It’s the green Isle of Ireland, not San Francisco. 💜

The washed on an empty beach is referring to the Normandy landings / WWII liberation of Europe. In the context of another life given in the name of love / freedom makes much more sense than some random unidentified Aussie.

Lyrics by Bono. Music by U2. 40 years 🎂 since release coming 3 September 2024. San Francisco native 🌁. Here. No way that is my hometown. Man (Jesus) betrayed by a kiss 💋 (Judaism Iscariot). Last verse. Early morning 🌄 April 4. Bono sometimes corrects his mistake in concerts. He replaces it with Eastern evening 🌙 April 4. Another U2 song about protests is New Year's Day. This was about the Solidarity movement in Poland 🇵🇱. Yes 👍 Another assassination happened: Fr Jerry Popieluszko in October 1984. Same year when U2 released Pride and its album Unforgettable Fire 🔥. Another protest song from an Irish group is Zombie 🧟‍♂️. Lyrics by the late Dolores O'Riordan, RIP 🙏. Music by The Cranberries.

This song is not to do with wars or soldiers as some have suggested - it's the exact opposite. It's about 'martyrs' for peace (as it would, with the link to MLK and reference to Jesus). That's why I don't believe any of the lyrics are about Irish republicanism (although of course Bono's roots could make that seem likely) or the World Wars per se - this song is not about taking political sides, it's more a religious song. The "one man caught on the barbed wire fence" lyric is probably a reference to Peter Fechter. He was a young East German whose family was separated by the Berlin Wall, and he tried to escape to the other side to be reunited with them, but was gunned down by guards in the no-man's land between the two sides, and died impaled on barbed wire in that zone because neither side would approach to save him. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Peter_Fechter The "one man he resists" is likely Mahatma Gandhi, who was known for passive resistance against British rule and against religious violence between Hindus and Muslims, but was assassinated. "One man washed on an empty beach" is probably the apostle Paul (also called St Paul) who was shipwrecked on the way to Rome to be tried for his evangelism. Although it's not known for sure if he was executed in Rome (the Bible doesn't say so although church tradition teaches he was), he likely died there without ever being released from prison. And of course, the "one man betrayed with a kiss" is Jesus Christ. Bono is paralleling Martin Luther King (whose first names incidentally also mirror the great Protestant reformer Martin Luther who stood up to the excesses of the RC Church) with these others who stood for peace and lost their lives for it.

A litte bit of research beforehand might make you enjoy it more. Then you could listen to the song instead of always pausing to try to figure out what the lyrics mean or the location. To hear you say San Francisco just blew my mind.

If we did that, then the whole first time reacting to something would be a lie. The whole point of a first-time reaction is to have a genuine reaction to something new.

The Father interrupts way to much while his daughter is just getting into the jam so quite annoying. Also this song is written about Martin Luther King Jr. So In the name of love (Pride) is in homage to him. Cool that you knew that as many other reactioners don't. The town is Dublin Ireland where they're from as they are an Irish Band. Still too much Interruptions by you to want to subscribe. U kill the continuity of the song we want comments and opinion not a school lecture. So thumbs down with a lot of room to improve. U kind of ruined a really great song dude. 👎👎👎

I'm not her dad. I'm her brother, and this is a whole point of a reaction to show our reaction, not yours. If you don't like the comments and pausing, then go listen to the song by itself. It's that easy, sweetheart.

@@GuzmanReactions Wow u look real old than. Still brother or father the result is the same your videos are terrible due to you stopping every few seconds and running your mouth instead of trying to hear and appreciate the song. I guess u must really love the sound of your own voice sweetheart it's just that simple for all of us to see. Last you should learn to take constructive criticism as I watch many reaction channels and yours is really bad, boring and hard to watch and it's all on you. Let the song flow and actually react when it feels right not incessantly reacting for no good reason as you did way too much on this one. Good luck honey.
