Check out a song Betty Davis Eyes by a raspy voiced lady named Kim Carnes. Huge hit, should have a ton of views when you search it, but it's a great tune.✌️

Bonnie also first recorded "The Best," which later became a huge hit for Tina Turner when she covered it.

Rory Dodd did the background vocals for Bonnie and a lot of Meat Loaf Songs. He's a rock singer from canada, but mostly know'n for the back vocals on this song from Bonnie Tyler.

I used to be able to sing this fairly well in high school & I had the same hair lol. Can’t sing it anymore. But love this song!!! Might still be able to squeak out “It’s A Heartache”

One of My Mothers favorite songs of All-Time. She sung it like a Angel. Another was Black Velvet from Alannah Myles

Also check out Celine Dion's song It's All Coming Back To Me Now which was also written by Jim Steinman with his familiar style. Bonnie Tyler had an operation in 1977 to remove vocal cord nodules and was advised by her doctor to rest her voice for six weeks. Tyler screamed in frustration one day, resulting in a permanent raspy tone.

Bonnie did include Did You Ever See The Rain on the album and Steinman was the producer.

There's a very good reason it reminds you of Meat Loaf. It's the Jim Steinman touch. It proves you pay attention though to your vids and your craft. Great ear, bro! Carly Simon and Kim Carnes both are known for a nice raspy voice.

Meatloaf, dude… was supposed to get this song. Jim Steinman wrote and produced both Meat Loaf's album "Bat Out of Hell" and Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart..” "Total Eclipse of the Heart” was initially intended for Meat Loaf. But the song was instead given to Bonnie Tyler. You may notice some dance moves that look like moves from Michael Jackson 1980s videos. Like Thriller…. Same choreographer. Michael Peters.

The 80s had some of the best videos and many of the worst. It was a new medium and many didn't understand how to use video with their songs, trying to make some kind of "artistic" statement that often falls flat, and budgets were also often meager. This is a great song but the video appears on several worst videos list. There is a parody "literal" version of this video that spoofs the over-dramatic and often non-sensical videos of the 80s. It's hysterical.
