I love Helen Shapiro. She was a British Jewish singer and had two number one singles in the early 1960s, and reminds me in some ways of Amy Winehouse.

Helen is now 77 years old and from 2015 was touring as part of a trio called Hebron who were very popular on the circuit. I have been unable to find any bookings for them listed in 2024.

The majority of the photos are from the movie "It's trad dad". I have the dvd to remind me of the quality of singers we had back in the day.

Tee, thank you for listening to Helen. After her early successes, Helen was superceded by the Beatles, who were a supporting group on her tour. Since the 1970s, she has branched out as a performer in musical theatre and jazz; she appeared in the West End and toured extensively with the British jazz trumpeter Humphrey Lyttelton and his band.

She was the top-selling female singer in Britain and the Commonwealth 1961-62 inclusive, then unaccountably her quality meant nothing -- a hasbeen at 17 because of the trend to macho male groups beginning with the Beatles in the UK.

Thank You for showing my Video I posted on KZfaq, I'm PIGGIE58. There are many Helen Shapiro Video's on my Channel. Yes She was a big Star in the UK, 1961 to 1964 were her biggest Pop Years, then later done Jazz & Gospel. She continued touring till 2002. Now does Her Gospel Outreach Shows. She's still well known in the UK and is married to Actor John Judd. Yes she was born in Hackney in London, England, in 1946. There is a lot about Helen on the Internet, including Wikipedia.❤

Also , her testimony is on You Tube. She is a Messianic Jew and a very effective speaker for Yeshua (Jesus). As a Gentile American, I had never heard of her, but as a consequence of hearing her testimony and You Don't Know on You Tube, I bought her autobiography " Walking Back to Happiness" (title of her other #1 hit in the U.K. and listened to many of her interviews. I was flabbergasted at how humble, kind , and normal she seemed for someone who had so much fame so young. I think she is the epitome of class! Likewise, her husband is an ex-policeman and a very good actor. He starred in the movie "Scum".
