The music is by Giorgio Moroder one of the fathers of electronic music. The same that was behind Donna Summer's successes. He won an Oscar for this song as well as he will win it for Berlin's "Take My Breath Away". It also won the Oscar for the original soundtrack of the film Midnight Express.

The movie itself is a very good souvenir of the 80's, and when you watch the movie, you can't get the song out of your head, as it's really part of the movie. This song was #1 in the charts in France too, the movie also. But to be honest, as a child, we could only understand the refrain "what a feeling", which is in itself a program of life we adopted, corresponding to the aspirations of the 80's. You're perfectly right, these years also corresponded to the furry of the group the police, and especially the songs "every breath you take" , "message in a bottle" , and "Roxane" . I was an absolute fan and I'm very proud because the group singer, Sting, established in France in the same city as me, Senlis, calling it "a very nice little village in the north of Paris". The world is small. Sting continued his carrier alone, speaks perfect French and is a real very good friend of Mylène Farmer. She insisted a lot if he could wrote a song for her, that they could sing together. He wrote for her "stolen car". In the clip they did together, they do a real french kiss along the Seine in Paris! so for very long, I was really wondering if they were in couple in life. Finally, it seems not because he is married and she has a boyfriend. but Mylène have always loved this kind of provocation, in order to maintain a kind of mystery, and have always kept her life extremly private, far from the media system. It's true that they are both really incredibly good-looking and that they would perfectly match. But no, they are just best friends!

You’re so damn cute! I loved seeing how this song affected you the way it did. Now imagine having loved this song SINCE it was first released way back in 1983 and still having the kind of reaction hearing it today like you did first hearing it in this reaction video. And YES! Absolutely correct, Giorgio Moroder is a freaking GENIUS! BTW, Irene Cara is not a 1 Hit Wonder. Try listening to another huge smash by her called “Fame” which was a HUGE hit reaching #1 in the UK, #4 on the US Singles chart and #1 on the US Dance chart. She also has a big hit with the song “Breakdance” which hit #8 on the Us Singles chart. But, this song “Flashdance (What A Feeling)” is the absolute bomb and the best of Irene and with Giorgio Moroder thrown in you’ve got an epic pop masterpiece.
