Band-Maid do different! From "Manners" to "Warning" to "Black Hole" "Domination" "Play" "About Us" Then there's the good ol thumpers like "Puzzle" "Moratorium" "Take Me Higher" etc or live acoustics like "Puzzle" "Anenome" and "YOLO" and they even have one called "Different"! which is as it says. You can't go wrong whatever you pick cos there all good, they don't do bad!

Good reaction, Mr Scott. The more you listen the more you'll love them, there are always details that you'll miss on your first react. Their songs are multi-layered and complex but often sound simpler than they actually are. Try their instrumentals, either Onset or Without Holding Back to get the grasp of what they do behind the catchy vocal lines, then start listening to other songs that fans recommend. All of the videos on their official channel are good. All the live tracks released in 2021 have been "online concerts" (thanks COVID!) so they don't have a crowd to feed off. As good as their recent live tracks have been, they really come alive with a crowd.

Make no mistake. This toe tapper has nothing to do with the existence of god. It has everything to do with not counting on any god to come and save you. I first came across this band in January 2017 when l stumbled upon Thrill. It peaked my interest but little more. A few days later l came across Alone. And discovering it was written, arranged, produced and performed by the band themselves as have 99% of all their music since made me a big fan. Seeing them perform for two hours on September 30, 2019 at the Echoplex in LA made me a Maidiac. They make music across many genres often in the very same song. One thing they haven't done yet is make bad music. They don't seem to be capable of that. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

Congrats on hearing your favorite band for the first time. Ironically enough the first ever music video released by the band was called "Thrill" so technically yes, they can thrill you.

We Band-Maid fans are called Maidiacs. And we love to return the favor and recommend Lovebites to fans who discover Band-Maid first. And yeah, both bands are awesome and really different. Lovebites is more power/thrash metal and BandMaid is more progressive hard rock with punk and metal elements. As you can hear, the bass really shines, as it does in most other songs. For another bass showcase, look for the 2-in-1 live video: "Manners & Black Hole". Others include "Domination" (live), "Onset" (live) and "Warning" (mv). I mean any song rec below is fine. Since you already heard Lovebites, have you listened to Nemophila's "Raitei" or "Dissension"? How about Hanabie's "We Love Sweets"? Or Hagane's "Labradorite"? They're all metal. MISA plays with a pick and slaps in the same song and changes from one to the other very quickly! She does this in many songs and can be seen doing it in several live live videos. Some bassists may throw their picks away to slap, but you use the same pick when you change from slapping to picking again, right? (Misa): No, I don't throw my pick away. Kudos on finding out Misa as the bass player. She is one of the best. Really creative like the rest of the band. No main bass line for her. This 1 is not 1 of my favourites but a sign of Kanami song writing in isolation last year. Their latest release earlier this year,Unseen World, is full of different material. A lot of frenetic songs that really challenges Akane on drums in particular.
