If you're a fan of really heavy gross and disgusting base lines, with great tone, this Girl is one of the best! I love how she curls the pick into her index finger when she slaps and pops. The switching is so fast, like sleight of hand.

Was wondering when you would discover Band Maid! I did a year ago and have been hooked ever since. Dual vocals, extremely talented musicians, master lyricist and excellent compositions. Then throw in a genuine joy for performing and impeccable delivery. Play live comes to mind being the bass fan you are. Enjoy! edit: After you listen once go back and turn on the CC, most of their newer material contain English translations.

There’s no “right” song to introduce yourself to band maid....but you REALLLLY picked a great pairing :). Both songs were off their newest album but there’s a lot more. And yes Saiki the lead singer has the same teeth as you and they look super awesome 😎

They play a large variety of songs, ALL of them are good. I don't know if you were aware but NO GOD is actually a totally live on line performance. That's how they are live and in front of an audience they light it up. They do some softer things too but they're excellent also. Right now Band Maid is the best rock band on the planet. Misa (bass) is called "the barefoot assassin" because she doesn't wear shoes when playing. She also likes drinking whiskey and beer on stage and if you can listen to her she pretty much plays lead bass under the guitar lead most of the time. Akane (drums) is called "the gorilla" by her band mates. Miku (rhythm gtr) writes most of the lyrics and actually started the band and Kanami (gtr) writes and arranges most of the music with input from the other members. Saiki (vox) actually acts as quality control when they're creating new material. They all have a part, they all get their own times to shine. Watch FREEDOM live first and then DOMINATION LIVE. Well, watch anything, as I indicated, they don't have a bad song. I'm an old guy (approaching) seventy) and hadn't really paid much attention to rock at all because it was stale. When I discovered Band Maid years ago they blew my socks off and I haven't looked back. There are a number of other really good all female Japanese bands but Band Maid is the total package. A couple more songs and you'll be hooked forever.

Misa's bass is very prominent in many band-maid songs. She almost leads in some songs. And they also have songs where drums stands out. And everyone knows Kanami is genius so... Goes without saying, but don't forget Saiki's vocal and Miku's harmonization and how they all complement each other.

Saiki is the lead singer, and yes, she has the "double-toothed" prominent canines. It is considered a mark of beauty among many Japanese. The Band-Maid faithful have seen the occasional bully comment on her teeth and make fun of them, so we know a little of what you are talking about.

Great reaction... If you like bass... Then Band-Maid is super great for you, the bass is up-front in the B-M and always doing something awesome. And about fang teeth (in Japan they called it yaeba teeth)... It's considered cute in Japan... I read even some go under dental procedures to make artificially because they didn't have it. Maybe because the Wabi-Sabi philosophy: appreciating beauty that imperfect.

There’s only two things anyone ever needs to know about BAND-MAID: 1) if you randomly pick anything from their catalog, you stand about a 99% chance of having your mind blown. 2) while they rock in studio, they absolutely SLAP live.

Wow! I loved your reaction to my favourite band. I've just turned 60 and have been going to gigs since I was 12, went to my first three day festival at the age of 14 and with a few notable exceptions I've seen pretty much all of the major rock acts since the 1970s - the exceptions being bands or artists who had either died or disbanded before I had a chance to see them perform (The Beatles, The Doors, Hendrix, Joplin, etc.) - and in my opinion Band Maid are easily the best band to have emerged over the past 40 odd years. They are five musical virtuosos who are incapable of writing a bad song and their unbelievably amazing chemistry together knocks spots off every other band I've seen in recent years. Their more recent videos all have captions on them if you ever want to check out what they're saying. Miku on rhythm guitar writes most of their lyrics and she's a real poet. She was also the one who thought to form the band, so we all owe her a debt for managing to bring all these ladies together. Usually for early listens I recommend the live video for "Domination" or the live video for "Real Existence", both on their channel.

It was so good to see you react to Band Maid! I remember your reaction to Babymetal "Death", one of the best reaction I had ever seen, I can't believe you had not listen to Band Maid, better late than never right? Band Maid has been around eight years now with the same line up, Miku, the back up singer and rhythm guitarist formed the band writes most of the lyrics, Kanami the lead guitarist writes most of the music, she also has been teaching Miku how to play the guitar, Akane is the drummer and is one of the best with her fills and change of pace, Misa plays the bass, she has a great ability to switch from picking to plucking or slapping the Bass. Saiki the lead singer was recruited by Miku to be the lead singer. What a great band, with many musical influences but at the heart of it all they are a rock band. They even have done some really good ballads like "About Us" which is pretty much a love letter to their fans showing how much they miss them because of this covid situation. Normally I recommend live music from Band Maid like "Real Existence" or "Domination", anything from Band Maid you can find from their youtube site, knowing your taste you probably also like their music video "Rinne"... I am sorry to hear about you getting bullied, I got bullied too, actually I have the same darn teeth, lol. I hate to say it because as a rule of thumb I am not a violent person but a bully is a bully until someone punches him in the face, that comes from personal experience... I first heard this band (Thrill) 4 or 5 months ago and have become just amazed at how good they are... they are all just great players.. and to top it all off... they are even better live!

You should watch Play live, Dice, Onset live then. If bass is your thing Misa is your barefoot assassin at bass. She's cool.

Misa has often often been compared to Les Claypool, but honestly I think Misa is better.. If you like bass, then Band-Maid is for you.

It's not as fast-paced as 'Warning' - more bluesy / jazzy, but still rocks and it has some interesting quirks. I read in an interview with the bassist, MISA, that she wanted to be the best bassist she could ever be. To paraphrase her, when people ever thought about bass, she wanted them to think about her. So far, she's doing a great job. Everyone I read who tals about this band is raving about her bass playing. Your teeth are just fine, by the way. If people need to pick on others because they feel bad about themselves, and don't have any other way to lift themselves up, they will just try to bring others down, so they will focus on anything that gets them a reaction, whether it's real or not. You're beautiful and passionate and real, so stay true and ignore the haters. Their opinions count for nothing. Their insults are more a reflection on how they feel about themselves than how they feel about you. I was bullied all through school too, so I know how it feels.

THE best live Rock band in the solar system. Not just some girls in frocks. Two members (MISA - Bass, Akane - Drums) are classically trained pianists and musicians who studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music while Kanami, the lead guitarist, has also been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 but is concert standard (almost unbelievably, given her skills, she only switched to guitar about 10 years ago!) They all have superb musical ability as well as passion, a lack of ego and the drive to play real, in your face, Rock which is why they are THE best live Rock band on Earth right now. The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Music they write themselves, real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals. They are all really close friends and know how to have fun together on stage, confident as they are in each others’ abilities and skills. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass, as Babymetal have done for Metal. Future reactions I'd recommend, as they really shine brightest live, would be from the DVD they released in April 2020. Welcome to the party! 🎼 Band Maid is indeed an amazing band and their videos live are great, but some of the their best performances are MV. The song "Daydreaming" is a MV that is a slower song and quite beautiful and the MV "Warning" which you just watched is also superior to the live Okyu-ji version they have recently put out. It's a matter of which format serves the song best - sometimes it'll be live, other times a well recorded MV (sometimes of a live show). Great reaction and looking forward to more •°. 🕊️____ PO!

Yes!! Japanese bands are absolutely insane and I love that you are reacting to this amazing band! For band maid, definitely listen to more of their live videos, as they usually have great quality and display these wonderful girl having so much fun. On top of that, Misa has such nice bass lines. There is no stage that is too big for them. In fact, the bigger the stage and production, the better they sound. You need to check them out live with an audience. The song Domination comes to mind.
