I was incarcerated for 5 years and my brothers would visit me when it was financially possible - it wasn’t the same.. when I was released I surprised them and broke into tears man. . I went in as a teen and came out as an adult and in my mind they were still teenagers but once I was out I was in awe and shock in how much 5 years did to our growth . I love my siblings , they have kids now and I aim to be the freaking best uncle ever these days ! Thank you Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏽

I can still remember the day when my Mother returned to her native Saint Lucia 🇱🇨 for the first time in 14 years to see her parents & siblings, now a US Citizen, with her husband and 4 children at her side. I didn’t see my grandmother for 1 year. When I saw her, she’s aged so much that I almost didn’t recognize her. Let me tell you I broke down in tears. It’s just a feeling you could never describe, seeing a loved one changes with time that you wish you could stop time but you can’t.

My mom and I reunited my grandma with her brother who haven’t see eachother for 10 years it was so wholesome when my grandma walked through the doors and saw her brother for the first time.

This remind me of my grandad and his sister. She came England after many, many years to visit him. My grandfather couldn’t travel (health reasons.) Same thing happen between then. The sparklers in their eyes, the joy, the love, the love and laughter and sarcasm between them as they talk about their past lives together…It brought light to the room. Few months later he passed away (she was still in U.K.) She often forgets few things so she didn’t remember my name. But she she could recognise my face. She was in a room resting and I went in to chitchat. Her eyes filled with tears and all she could say is “My brother…My brother…My older brother…” She later said “I only have one young brother left. My older brother left me. To make her kind of forget a little I tried talking about her, her grandchildren, her children (even though I knew, I felt so heartbroken.) I hope God increase more love amongst these brothers, may they live a long life Insha’Allah ameen! (Any updates about them? I would love to know!) Honestly, I love talking to older people and learning about their lives they are filled wisdoms and advice🥰!

Outstanding! Many siblings were broken apart back in the depression and the years that followed. For my grandfathers birthday one year, my aunt tracked down his sister and brother which he hadn’t seen in 60+ years. It was pretty amazing when he showed up on their doorstep all those years later

When you’re young it’s hard to comprehend not seeing your sibling for 25 yrs but when you get older and you’re so busy with your own life and you live far away, I can see how the time flies by in the blink of an eye and before you know it, it’s been a quarter century.
