The thing with Alice in Wonderland is that you never know if the characters she encounters are threatening or helping ? You can't apply logic to their actions, they don't obey the same rules as Alice !!

Fun fact the Harsh Hair’s voice is found in several old Disney films, including Casey Jones, while The Hatter is none other than legendary comedian Ed Wyn, the Cheshire Cat is Winnie the Pooh himself, and Alice was supposedly largely modeled after one of Walts own daughters and at the time of her creation was considered a princess prior to modern Disney making rules for who could and couldn’t be a princess.

“Why is a raven like a writing desk?: Because they both have inky quills and can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front” -Lewis Carroll. Though of course, in-universe there’s not intended to be an answer. Since when Alice asks why the mad hatter says “I haven’t the slightest idea”, showing that it’s just more delightful nonsense. Also, Alice in Wonderland wasn’t made for kids in the 50s. It was made for kids in 1865 and then Disney made an animated adaptation in the 50s. Most of the trippy imagery was borrowed from the book.

The story Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum tell is a sad one. The reason the R became red and started flashing was it was believed that every month with an R in it was the perfect time to gather and eat oysters. The reason the white rabbit was yelling “Mary Ann!” Was an all around yell for whatever servant was nearby at the time back then. Instead of screaming for a specific maid or servant that could be too far away to hear anyway the master or mistres of the house would yell “Mary Ann!” as , like said an all around call for the nearest servant. Which is why Alice had the reaction she did. The Mad Hatter was because at a certain time the people who created hats, a hatter, would try on the hats they created and it had a chemical that would slowly make them go insane. The Tea Party is based off both the first and second book. The one where she sat down for tea was the Mad Hatter and March Hare are stuck at tea time for as long as Time himself was still mad at The Hatter for a fight they’d had earlier. The one in the second book was the one with Unbirthday in it. In the book Alice was watching the trial not the one in trouble. And all of the people the Queen ordered their heads off was quietly pardoned by the King behind her back. No one died. I’ve got more little fun facts if you’d like. I’ve read the first book but not the second. Yet.

Few facts about this story. The author used to be a professor at a high profile university in England. He met a lady through his job and she had two younger sisters. I don’t know if they ever married, but one day he was hanging out with all three of them when the youngest girl asked him to tell her a story. So off the top of his head, he started telling the story of Alice in Wonderland. When word picked up about his imaginary story, other professors were encouraging him to write on it more. So he did. He based Alice off of his gf’s youngest sister & his own gf was the inspiration for Alice’s sister. Being a high profile professor, Lewis Carrol, the author, had been invited to many political events & knew a lot of higher society people. It’s been speculated for years about the political undertones of this story. The Walrus and the Carpenter represents how the working class does all the work while the rich lie to them and steal all the rewards. The tweedle Twins represents Alice’s conscious and the Caterpillar represents her trying to understand the logic behind this whole world. The Flower Garden represents the sort of gossiping situations a young girl would face against older women of society, the DoDo bird represents how stupid politicians can be. The scene where the DoDo is on the beach up on a rock and the other animals are running around drying off then get wet again represents how politicians lie to people and how people go along with it, even though it doesn’t make any sense. The March Hare & Mad Hatter don’t exactly have a symbolism, but many who studied the book think they both represent how men treat young girls. The white rabbit represents Alice’s subconscious. Now the Queen of Hearts almost got Lewis Carol arrested. Especially with the timing of the character. The character of the Queen of Hearts came around AFTER Lewis Carol met the Queen of England, and many believe he based that character off of her. But the Queen of Hearts entire sequence represents how unfair and heartless rulers are. They show unfair court systems and how rulers can change the courts to how they desire. Kinda like how rich people get away with so much crime. I do like how the entire end chase scene breaks it down as the dream becoming a nightmare too. There’s also a theory that the Cheshire Cat set Alice up to be murdered.

In regards the the raven riddle, my copy of the book begins with a preface by Carroll as follows: To The EIGHTY-SIXTH THOUSAND Enquiries have been so often addressed to me, as to whether any answer to the Hatter’s Riddle can be imagined, that I may as well put on record here what seems to me to be a fairly appropriate answer, viz. “Because it can produce a few notes, though they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front!” This, however, is merely an after-thought: the Riddle, as originally invented, had no answer at all.

I think you guys might like Star vs the forces of evil. The first season is very bright and colorful but as the story progresses, the storyline and the characters mature as well.
