That shot at 7:07 of the posh 70's décor is my dream home. I grew up poor in the 70's and I remember visiting my rich relatives who had homes like this. I'm still financially disabled and in my 50's, but If I had the money I'd re-create that house. I wouldn't give a damn if it wasn't modern or socially acceptable to go retro.

Adam McKay was a writer on SNL at the same time that Will Ferrel was a cast member. Adam’s most successful sketches on the show were the ones with Will, and Will’s most successful sketches were the ones written by Adam (usually cowritten by Will). They both left SNL around the same time, and so started working together on movies…becoming a kind of director/actor writing duo. Poor Christina Applegate is in terrible health these days, and it’s really sad because she seems so sweet. There were bloopers and alternate takes in the credits that you missed.😢

Yup, his character seems like it was almost entirely improvised, yet it really made this movie pop for me. I laughed harder at his lines than anything else in the film.

When Anchorman 2 was about to release, Will ferrell made a surprise stop in my state (of all places), north dakota, to report the news in character as Ron burgundy. It's on youtube. I read an article later on about it. If the news was light and typical, he would report in character, but if something big or tragic happened, then it would've been canceled. But luckily, it was a slow news day and he showed up. it was kept a secret so nobody expected it.

Looking forward to this, mainly remember the old titles one and two and playing them was a blast. Only played the prolog to 3. So basically in the dark for whatever plots the console gens did. Love the retro setting of mayhem as a theme and curious what monsters it will bring forth. Borderlands I've not played at all so dunno what it has in store. I like the mad max franchise though so I'll watch it for sure.

Cris, I lived in San Diego for 3 yrs and there were only 2 things, well 3 things I didn’t like: 1) being woken up at 4am-ish, on 2 occasions b/c there were tremors - not quite an earthquake but all the walls were moving 2) between the middle of Feb through the middle of Mar, it rains almost every day and the temp never gets above the low 50’s (10 C) 3) when it rains hard, the streets flood and it takes a an hour or so before u can drive Best food I’ve ever eaten.

Actually in Alaska, Native women didn't go into the woods during menstruation! Is it true or not, but that's what the folk lore says! I wonder what science says? It is fact that bears can smell for a mile, so it could make a bear interested, but does the bear know between menstruation and a deadly wound? They clearly know when a female bear is in heat. There must be a study, I don't know it seems interesting to me.

I remember skateboarding down Ocean Blvd and I see a helicopter in the middle of the street and lights and film crews, trailers and everything. I ask one of the production guys what are they filming and he said Anchorman. I thought it sounded dumb at the time.

So years ago I was in a job interview. There were 3 managers in the interview asking me questions. One of them started talking about how the company is a very diverse workplace. Then asked me "What is diversity to you?". My mind immediately went to "Diversity is an old old wooden ship from the Civil War era". And I smirked. I tried to stop and pretend I was clearing my throat, but it was too late. They saw that I laughed. They thought I was laughing at a company having a diverse workplace. I tried to explain. Which of course, sounds like nonsense if you don't know the movie quote. Needless to say, I did not get the job.

As someone who was the hiring manager for my department at Paramount for five years, I say you shoulda just went with the joke, then explained it if they didn’t get it. People always want to work with easy going people. When they were uptight and giving me textbook answers, I used to tell candidates straight up, “Relax. I can teach anyone to do this job…I want to hire someone I actually want to work with and teach. Just be yourself.” We had a really cool department that built a lot of lifelong friendships. 😂 🤷🏻‍♂️😀
