Grown Ups Movie Description:
A single man who drinks too much. A father with three daughters who he rarely sees. A guy who is overweight and unemployed. A hen-pecked househusband. A successful Hollywood agent married to a fashion designer. What do these five men have in common? They used to play for the same basketball team at school. Now their former coach has died, and they are reunited at his funeral. Will the group rediscover old bonds?
Grown Ups is a 2010 American comedy film directed by Dennis Dugan, written by Adam Sandler and Fred Wolf, and produced by Sandler and Jack Giarraputo. The film stars Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, and Maya Rudolph. The film tells a story of five lifelong friends who won their junior high school basketball championship in 1978. They reunite three decades later for a 4th of July weekend after learning about the sudden death of their basketball coach.
Produced by Sandler's Happy Madison Productions in association with Relativity Media, Grown Ups was released in the United States on June 25, 2010, by Columbia Pictures. Despite receiving unfavorable reviews from critics, it grossed $271 million and led to a sequel, Grown Ups 2, in 2013.

This is one of those movies that many people seem to hate, but I can't help but enjoy it. I just love seeing Adam Sandler's character hanging out with his friends while on vacation. That's literally me during my high school years, hanging out with friends.

Little trivia - Adam Sandler gave his co stars Chris Rock, David Spade ect...all cars at the end of the movie as a gift...David Spade didn't realize that the car was in his driveway until Chris Rock called him and told him to look and that it was from Adam. Originally David's first thought wen he saw the car was that he didn't understand why Adam wanted to watch over/babysit his car for him! He didn't understand that it was a gift for him until Chris Rock finally explained it to him 😂

This is a great movie, especially for those over 50. You must react to the sequel. I used to be more against Dickie Bailey for being a jerk. But after seeing this a few more times, I realized that in the beginning, Lenny's foot was over the line. Dickie didn't think he lost unfairly, he knew he did. To someone who had one chance to be great winning a championship, this can eat at someone, especially if their life doesn't turn out like they hoped. Not to spoil anything, but he is not as big a jackass in Grown Ups 2.

rickmclaughlin9710: I gotta be honest. It kinda put me off when the reactor was saying he wouldn't have let the angry guy win and didn't seem to understand what you and others saw so clearly... That Sandler's character wanted this vacation time to Change how his life was going, the direction his friends' lives were going, and their children's lives were going. He got what he wanted, and had the rare opportunity to help change the "antagonist's" life as well, even if it was trivial to others why it went wrong. Winning meant so much more to the antagonist than it meant to Sandler's character. And giving that angry dude a chance to move past the thing that changed his life in a negative way was what his character was all about. The title of the movie says it all. These people never Really grew up. But, this summer together helped them leave whatever was holding them back and move forward. Including the angry guy. He Needed it as much as any of the people there, and the last scene shows the difference it made for him. A difference that cost Sandler's character Nothing to give. So, Thank You for pointing out this theme of the movie because it will help those who had trouble seeing it, see it a little more clearly

I think you actually summed it up pretty well. I personally put this in my top 5 movies of all time and you putting up the thing about Farley might makes it even better. Something about the care free nature of it, the fact that the cast is all a group of real life friends.. idk. I love this movie. But it is very talked up so I can see how that’d lead to the casualness of it letting down the high hopes. For me. This is just one of those that I can put on any time, any day, and just be entertained for an hour and a half. 🙂

This is one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies. It's just so hilarious I love it. "Hey what's up ladies" is my favorite part of the entire movie.

I love this movie, I gotta watch both 1st and 2nd every summer since they came out. Just too funny and enjoyable not to. They're just hanging out as found family, even the kids. Lmao❤❤❤

This is one of the movies where the 2nd one is better than the first so pleeease do the 2nd one. The mama is the reason I go around calling people spicy quesadillas 😂😂😂. Also RIP Cameron Boyce.

This movie is all of Sandler's friends just hanging out. My wife went to college in CA. She said that Sandler and James would just show up and ask tomplay pickup basketball with the college kids. Said they were crazy nice to everybody.

I think most of Adams movies from the 2010s and recent one with all his friends is just simply having fun but also doing somethings they love. I think its cool they he has his friends in all his movies. But for the song that makes me act like David spade is Pink + White by Frank Ocean.
