@38:00, when Nick Fury said “the Avenger’s Initiative” almost everybody in the movie theater lost our minds. With that one statement we knew Iron Man wasn’t gonna be a one off or just a series of solo films. Prior to this superhero movies were done with the hero being the only guy or gal in town or the world. But knowing we were getting an Avenger’s movie we were going to see Iron Man, Captain America etc all in the same movie.

Tony Stark’s story arc is one of the best I’ve seen in sci-if. He starts off as a selfish borderline alcoholic. But what he becomes over the 20 MCU movies…I won’t spoil it. Enjoy

Those F-22’s had no idea what Tony was doing. You can’t see ground level action from 20-30,000 feet up. All they knew was he was in their restricted airspace & could’ve been an enemy combatant.

To this day, still my favorite live-action superhero origin movie, beating out Batman Begins. Iron Man is the masterpiece that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Yes, 3 for 3 on those observations. Tony's weapons indeed wound up in the hands of terrorists and were used against American forces, including his convoy when he was kidnapped. Yes Tony's father is Howard Stark, the same guy who worked with Captain America during WW2. However he's played by 3 different actors over the course of multiple MCU movies/TV shows. On a side note, Terrance Howard only appears in the first Iron Man film. Don Cheadle took over as Rhodey in Iron Man 2 (lots of studio/actor drama involved) but the bottom line is Marvel Studios wanted to cut costs and Howard's contract was too expensive for their tastes.

Robert Downey jr specified having Burger King because he remembered having a cheese burger from BK and thought it was disgusting, that was a pivotal moment for the actor as he had reached a low point in his life before iron man. The cheese burger scene stands as a huge symbolic turnaround for RDJ.

Major you at the right person to react to the MCU , you will be able to catch onto all the Easter eggs ! This universe is 21+ films blended all completely together ! Each adding one little thing and another !! Creating by the end (infinity war/endgame) a tremendous cinematic experience!!! After seeing how well you are attentive to GOT ! You would love the mcu

Tony Stark immediately getting Burger King after he gets back is a reference to actor Robert Downey Jr’s real life. He was addicted to drugs and doing bad, and he says he was high and eating a Burger King burger that was so gross that he threw his drugs into the sea and got sober, so they put that into the movie

@@MajorReacts you need to at least watch (react if you can) agents of shield and agent carter. people are saying that aos isn't cannon but marvel hasn't said that yet. things could change over the next few years, as things have happened to change the format of the marvel universe.

You know sometimes i wonder how it's even possible not to have seen those movies, but then i remember i'm past 30 years old. What i watched when i was young is now the past, just like i didn't know about my parent's movies and music and they were surprised.

the thing that most people dont know is that at the time the iron man movie came out , all of us we went to see a movie about that hero. nothing was announced or told about next movies, connected movies, and universe. so the words of SJ at the and was just a dream come true for the comic fans that they didnt know what is coming to them. also lets just think that the jarvis scene that runs the house etc now seems like a smarthouse , but in 2008 that was not even a possibility almost. a sci fi thing. we are coming a long way

You will enjoy watching all the Ironman movies as well as his appearances in other movies, because his suits are always evolving. Tony is constantly learning from his mistakes and modifying his suits, the suit he used to escape the cave was the Mark I, just keep an ear out for all the versions

They actually sold the shelby cobra that iron man crushed in this movie at Barrett Jackson auction. It was just a rolling chassis (no engine, no trans) and was smashed in the general outline of the iron man suit. It was purchased by the owner of Gas Monkey Garage for just over $24,000 plus auction fees. It is now in a museum.

I loved watching this reaction. You clearly enjoy yourself as you're watching these movies. What is just as fun was watching you get sooo many things wrong haha. But that's okay...these movies can throw you off like that. And don't worry about watching it out of sequence. Now you're watching it in release order...so you'll get caught up in the sequence soon.

Peter Billingsly(the engineer Obadiah yells at) and Jeff Bridges both shaved their heads for this movie. Peter Billingsley is best known as the boy in "A Christmas Story."

It makes alot of sense for tony to create a suit to protect himself. When there is one man on the planet who has the ability to single handedly create a weapon or weapons that could turn the tide of any war, that man is always going to be a target from many different countries, governments, and terrorist organizations. People will always be trying to either kill him or kidnap him and force him to work for their cause. Tony has to be able to protect himself and Do it with a weapon that nobody else can use

The movie that started the greatest saga of all time. The Infinity Saga. Sadly there will never be anything like it again. But it was great while it lasted. And Robert Downey Junior was the most integral part of the MCU. There will never be another like him in this role. I also wish they kept Howard as War Machine. He would have been incredible as Rhodey going forward. And Paul Bettany was spot on as Jarvis/Vision. Another one of my favorite marvel heros. Great stuff Major. Sorry I’m just finding you, but it’s fun to relive the infinity saga thru your reactions👍🏻

The battery, and later the arc reactor, are in front of Tony's heart. I don't blame you for suspecting Rhodey. Tony behaved poorly toward his friend before his imprisonment.

When this film first came out someone called Iron Man “the first adult superhero movie”. Unlike previous superhero movies the hero is already a fully actualized grown up with power, money and influence. So Tony doesn’t become Iron Man to live out a power fantasy. He is already powerful just being himself. The Iron Man suit allows him to use his money, power and influence in a new way.

As to why the US was attacking Iron Man after Gulmira, they don't know what did or didn't happen there... they weren't able to go in because they were using human shields. Then they see it blow up (not knowing if whoever did it cared about the civilians or not). Finally, they had an unknown flying object in a legal No Fly zone. They had basically warned everyone in the international community that no one else would be able to fly in this area without getting shot down... but this... thing was flying in that zone. So... they were going to shoot him down.

Thank you for going back and doing release order before you went too far into it. I know some people like suggesting reactors to do chronological for their first time and I’ll never ever understand why. It’s especially dumb for MCU movies cause of the post credit scenes.

I'll just assume you talked in terms of enjoying the movie/character when you said you like Tony. Cause the whole thing with the reporter in the beginning for example is a little bit uncomfortable to watch for me as a woman. I do still like the movie and Tony as a character is a lot of fun! I can really like a thing and criticise it at the same time. Didn't see as strong of a reaction to Iron Man in quite some time. Generally I appreciate your expressiveness and excitement in these reactions! I'm also so confused and amused by how you mistrusted Yinsen ^^ He did his best to save Tony, but couldn't do more than he already did. And "He is with that due Coulsen." 😅 No, it's the other way around ^^
