Many Lost filming sites can be visited, and the Waimea Falls nature park and botanical gardens in Oahu is available for a bit of Lost-style dip in the water. You need a life vest, and they have a lifeguard. Funnily, even some scenes 'elsewhere' were filmed in Hawaii, it has such varying locations around.

A little trivia piece. The underwater shots in this episode were actually done in a water tank in LA. What a weird job, that you have to fly from Hawaii to LA to shoot a scene in a water tank and then fly back to Hawaii to continue filming.

Almost certain there wasn't a break when season 1 aired in the UK. Yes, the Marshal's body would be mush by now in the real world, but this is the island, so who knows? My only issue with that scene is how unbelievable it is that neither Kate nor Jack cover their mouths/noses with anything while digging up the body. Once you've smelled 'that' smell, you know it wouldn't be possible to do this (I speak from experience). Btw, it may be helpful to note that Kate's bank robbery accomplice thought her name was Maggie. Edit: And cats are always welcome 🥰

I think your instincts were correct, this was the first episode after the season 1 Christmas break, so there had been a substantial time off. This was also the first, and I think only time in the series, that there was a gap of more than one day in the STORY itself. The previous episode was day 16 on the island, this was day 20 (there's a line in this one where Shannon says to Boone he's been going into the jungle with Locke for four days). Usually the story picks up less than 24 hours later, even when there's not a cliffhanger. I presume that's not considered a spoiler. When you said you were "going to keep track of..." I thought you were going to say the guns, and I thought that was a good idea.. But that being said you may want to keep track of the guns. We now know of five -- the four in the case plus the one Sawyer got from the marshal to kill the polar bear.

Oh have no fear....I'm going to be paying attention to the guns. At some point I feel like there's going to be some sort of rift in the group...and that power struggle is going to come down to who controls the guns.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but the actress that plays Kate loves to climb trees in real life. So, they let her do it whenever they could.

And guns are in the show, folks! For example, if a writer features a gun in a story, there must be a reason for it, such as it being fired some time later in the plot. I'm pretty sure he'll be in future videos. I specifically bought him a cat bed and put it next to me on the desk so he could be up here but not blocking videos...but it takes a little bit of walking around for him to get comfortable and lay down.

I didn't see this when it originally aired so, I don't know if there was a break in the season or not. I first watched this online in 2012. I pretty much binge watched the whole thing. Since then I've watched the whole thing seven or eight times. I own it on bluray. I've watched 80 or so reactions to it as well. Currently watching you and three others. I'd say that's a safe assumption that we don't know the man she was talking about, the man she loved and the man she says she killed. It also makes sense what you said about Sun maybe knowing more than most people because they talk in front of her. How many cats do you have? I have six, lol. I'm just their stable boy at this point.

We have 3 cats. The one you've seen like being up on the desk. He has a black cat brother who's a lot more shy, so he might not ever show up on camera. Then they have a sister who's disabled, so there's no chance she's ever getting up on the desk.

I don't think there was a real mid-season break until the 3rd season. There was a 3 week break in December, but I think that had more to do with holiday scheduling stuff.

Gotcha....looking at the release dates for episodes 11 and 12 right now. Looks like there was a break from early December to early January. I'm sure you're correct about the reason being holiday related...but I'm sure they had a pretty good idea of when there would be a big break for them to have maximum impact on the cliffhangers.

@@OldBeardedGuyReacts In season 1, there was a break of a week between EP9 and EP10, then 4 weeks between EP11 and EP12 (it was in December), then 2 weeks between EP14 and EP15, then 4 weeks between EP18 and EP19, and Finally 4 weeks between EP20 and EP21.😊

I'm guessing you meant 3-month break, not 3-week. Season 3 episode 6 was 11/8/06, episode 7 was 2/7/07.

There was an almost one month break right before this episode. Episode 11 "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" aired on December 8, 2004. This episode aired on January 5, 2005. During the break, they showed repeats of various episodes, but that really confused some viewers as they showed what seemed to be random episodes. From what I remember, the episodes shown were not sequential - they kind of skipped some. I believe, looking back, that they tried to air episodes that would remind viewers of important reveals. There was another break between episodes 18 and 19, but that was three weeks long (Mar 2 to Mar 30). There was a final break between episodes 20 and 21 that lasted from April 6 to May 4. Air dates taken from IMDB.

@@OldBeardedGuyReacts The production crew of "Lost" was very in touch with their audience through social media and comment boards. They actually listened. When viewers expressed their frustration with the way the network was handling the repeats during breaks, they eventually stopped doing any repeats during the breaks. It may have started with Season 2 where they would put on other programming during the breaks, or it might have been Season 3. But they did eventually stop doing repeats altogether. By the way, they were one of the first shows to offer web only mini-episodes (which are considered canon). They were initially available only to Verizon Wireless users and were released between Season 3 and 4. These "mobisodes" were later made available on the Season 4 dvd and blu-ray sets.

@@OldBeardedGuyReacts The show *Firefly* had it worse - they showed pretty much every episode out of order, and would not even air an episode each week. Even worse, the very first episode ("Serenity", s01-e01) was not aired until _after_ the very last episode aired. Pretty much caused the series to get canceled before half the first season was finished filming (the second half would never get filmed as a result).

The French song at the end of the episode is "La mer" (The sea). It was a 1946 song interpreted by Charles Trenet. Its English -speaking version is called "Beyond the Sea" in 1959. It appears in films like "Finding Nemo". Unlike the English version which is a love song, the original French is a real ode to the Mediterranean Sea. A perfect song when you find yourself on an island surrounded by water. 😁

Thanks! I do have a list...but I'm pretty sure it's deeply flawed. Considering how they've turned some of my assumptions upside down, it's totally possible to find out that some of my favorites (like Hurley) actually have shady pasts.

Haha....I don't hate them, but it is a bit weird to me that we've gotten 2 Kate episodes and 2 Jack episodes before getting one about Hurley or Michael.
