People probably felt the same way watching this the same way people did watching Buster Keaton (one of Jackie's heroes) in the 1920s. Or Harold Lloyd.. or Chaplin, but mostly Buster.. cause he was the "stunt god" that Jackie discovered when he did his first American movie, Battle Creek Brawl in 1980. Buster didn't do "martial Arts" but he did the craziest, most jaw dropping stunts and visual gags.. that are still impressive now.

I watched this movie in the early eighties, and it's still amazing to this day. Two more Jackie Chan movies you should check out: "The Big Brawl" and "Drunken Master". Good reaction Goony!

I was such a kung-fu nerd in the 80's that I had a couple VHS tapes of my favourite fight scenes. I had to go to my buddies house, borrow his VHS, bring it back, set it up beside mine, make a copy. Yeah, it took some effort to get 8 hours of fight scenes on one sweet tape! I don't know if you had it on the version you watched by the original had the outtakes at the end with all the times Jackie hurt himself, haha. Nobody left the theatre until those were over. I'm sure you've seen Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee, but if not you should definitely watch it. Jackie Chan is even in there as one of the thug henchmen. It was his first Hollywood appearance.
