This is such a breath of fresh air to watch. It is why I am now sharing my experience of travelling around the world, living on 6 continents, learning a new language as I go - all while teaching and raising my two 3rd culture children. As an international school teacher, I hope I can inspire more people, as you are doing, to join me as I soft travel across the world.

I teach first grade in CT and I LOVE IT! It's the biggest year of growth and its clearly seen. The spring of first is my favorite because they are truly becoming "elementary students" and their zest for knowledge is truly contagious! Its a grade worth teaching for sure!!!

“If you want to walk this path you’ll have to be able to deal with your fear.” Can’t remember where I heard that quote but I feel like it definitely applies to teaching. I don’t think most people truly understand just how stressful a job it really is.

I do love first grade. Sometimes they are not as independent as you think. I feel it can be stressful because there is so much pressure to get the kids on "grade level." Some kids soar and others you are racking your brain trying to figure out how to help them or get them more help outside the classroom. They are lots of fun!

I can truly appreciate the growth of your channel. I found your channel when I started my teaching journey three years ago. it was great to have someone who could relate with going in midyear as a first timer over the years. I have realized that teaching wasn’t about the classroom aesthetic and it wasn’t realistic to keep it up. Students would be happy in a bare room it all depended on teaching style. I will continue to support you no matter where your channel goes. (Sorry if this is late I’m binging right now so that I can catch up)

Hi Madison! Thanks for the video on your first week back. I like the sun and warm weather ☀️ too. I live in Southern California and it’s kind of cold here now to me in the evenings at this time of year and my skin gets dry too. I’m not the same either in the winter! I did my student teaching with great teachers, but it was completed in quarantine 😢, so I never got the opportunity to actually feel what it’s like to work in a real classroom setting. I’ll be graduating from my masters in May and plan to be a teacher in August. Again, really love ur vlogs

I'm watching this now as we prepare for another snow day tomorrow. We were out all last week from the holiday and then snow. It's still icy in most places, so we are out tomorrow, as well. Hopefully we return Tuesday. we are in Mississippi. I'm a 1st grade assistant. In school to become a teacher, though. Love your videos!! I just subscribed today from one of my other accounts. Somehow I'm signed into another one on my phone. lol

You guys are great😍 My son is 3 and a half, he's in kindergarten. He started school in September. He used to say 1 word, or sometimes a 2 words sentence. He is blessed to have his kindergarten teacher😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💗💗💗He now speaks 3 to 4 words sentence. He can count, distinguish letters and some words💗💗💗💗I love his teacher soooooo much, I will never forget her💗💗💗He likes school because of her💗💗💗😭💗 One day there was a bug in his school, children were infecting each other, he got fever at school, she called me and I went to pick him, they dont have a nurse and it's a one class kindergarten (I dont live in the US) she was trying to cool his fever with a wet washcloth. I cried when I saw that, she doesnt and didnt have to do that but she love him so much ❤❤❤❤She's an angel❤

This is my 17th year teaching. I've taught all the primary grades kinder through 3rd grade. I am currently teaching first grade and my plan is to teach this grade for as long as I can. I love it!

I can vouch for first grade! It is the BEST age!! I love teaching first grade because just like you said- they are still sweet and little but the know how to be at school & be independent!

I think you teaching first grade would be super interesting! Hopefully you get that opportunity one day!

What is your contract hours? How many minutes of planning do you get? Is it enough? Btw love your authentic vlog. I have seen on Instagram everyone makes teaching magical 😫. And btw isn't first grade hard because there are kids who skip kindergarten.

Principals basically force mentor teachers to do it… my school has many good teachers but the principal keeps picking the same two teachers that aren’t even the best and have bad attitudes
