A political controversy has erupted in India after British pharma giant AstraZeneca admitted in a UK court that its Covid-19 vaccine leads to blood clots in "very rare cases". The approval of both Covidsheild and Covaccine was done by *doctors and scientists* board of India...not Modi.... The Covaccine (made by Bharat Biotech) which was what Modi government was promoting was limited as doctors wanted to go slow with its distribution but it was still available to choose on the vaccination selection app...Plus the bharat biotech Covaccine was not getting fast approvals from international boards which made the process slow..... on the other hand AstraZeneca which had all the international approvals reached in India.. they also mentioned that there can be rarest or rare case of blod clot case.. The serum institute of India got the license and hence Covidsheild was distributed faster...... Both the vaccines were available on the app for people to choose from... it was upto the people to choose.. but because Congraaass was actively questioning and tried to negate Covaccine, people wanted to go with Covidsheild (Foreign made) easily available and .....with Covidsheild as mentioned by doctors any side effects would be noticed within 30 minutes and hence people were made to sit for 30 minutes at the vaccination centre only.....nothing happened and here we are 4 years later.. It was Congress that was trying to oush Covidsheild in India and now when this news came out they want to create chaos and blame Modi?? who was promoting India made Covaccine?? How dumb and blind are Pappus honestly????? And when the vaccination drive was launched.. Congress and pappus said its the scientist and doctors achievement not Modi... and now when's something bad came up.. its all Modi's fault??????

I hope now people understand why Indian Docs and ICMR was more confident about Covaxin's safety but due to propaganda against it people mostly went with Covishield. P.S Since there's no dearth of opinions, let me clear few things. As a doctor I was working in the frontline back then, was among the initial few to get the vaccine, our hospital was only providing Covishield so I went to a nearby govt hospital and got Covaxin, clearly knowing it's made by older processes, efficacy could be less but should be safer, later during booster doses, I had to wait hours for few people to turn up so that they could open the vial, clearly public sentiments were against Covaxin with most batches got returned because of no takers. Govt gave a choice, people went ahead with whatever they were comfortable with. Lastly, anything that has effect is bound to have side effect, it's always the risk reward ratio, so no point of outrage now, accept and move on but be informed and seek timely medical help when feel the need.

@@JenniferGomes-kc7xv The *doctors and researchers* of India approved both Covaccine and Covidsheild.... on the vaccination app people had the option of selecting vacine of their choice... both were available Covaccine was less because Indian doctors wanted to take slow but steady with the process hence allowed restricted vaccination.... but it was still available on the app.. Congress was instilling fear on people related to Covaccine and hence people wanted to go with Covidsheild (Foreign made) AstraZeneca Covidsheild on the other had already gained all international approvals, Serum Institute of India got its license and the process could go faster with this vaccine...they also gave a disclaimer that only in rarest of rare cases will lead to blot clot... just like all medicines mention behind its packaging... hence when Indians were taking their vaccine they were told to wait for 30 mins at the center only.. Any side effects would show in 30 mins only...... If Modi Promoting Covaxin than why Covaxin is not available in all places . In my city and even around 400km radius there is not a single dose of covaxin available only Covishield is available. And one more thing if he takes the credit of vaccination than also take the responsibility.

If we’re going to get our facts right how about we start by establishing that you’re clearly on BJP’s payroll and it’s easy to see for anyone with an analytical mind how right wing you. Journalism was supposed to be neutral and leave the people thinking, not defend a government and draw conclusions.
