I give Nick a lot of grief over some of his takes, but he's been right about Josh Allen. Allen has a hero complex and is high on his own f@rts. He could be great, but he's unwilling to live within his limitations - he always wants to wear the cape.

Nick is 100% right about Allen just managing the game when they were up by two scores in the second half. I couldn't understand why he was throwing deep into coverage when they were in the lead. The Jets offense had done close to nothing and he just kept giving them momentum.

What seems to be driving Nick crazy is that people are acting like this is the first time Josh Allen has ever played a game like this. If some other QB - let's say Dak Prescott - had played a game like this everyone would say that he was continuing the trend from last year. But Allen actually is continuing this career long trend and people just ignore that he's been turnover prone the entire time.

That's because we've seen Josh's ceiling, like when he battled the Chiefs in the conference championship, and we know he has very high potential if he can fix some of these mental mistakes. We've seen enough of Dak to know he's not "that guy". Josh can absolutely be that guy.

If anyone is still using the "It's the first game of the season" excuse at this point then there's nothing else to be said other than they are delusional. If your QB still feels the need to be the super hero when you are up by double digits and the opponent is on their backup QB, there is nothing a teammate or coach can do to get that player to stop playing hero ball. This isn't the Bills beating themselves, this is Josh Allen beating the Bills game after game. It's like Josh himself doesn't believe he's worthy of the praise people give him and so he goes out every game to try and live up to it, even if it means making insanely bad throws and putting his body on the line.

@@sebastianzmijewski1282 I don’t think the OP is saying that Josh is an awful QB. He’s pointing out, the next level for Josh is to rein in what clearly is a problem. He’s averaging***** two turnovers per game for the last 37 games. The four losses don’t matter if it it doesn’t pay off in Super Bowls, AFC Title games or at least MVPs. And the turnovers, in games decided 3 points every week, are the reason they don’t have a title game appearance to show for their hard work.

I love how Nick sat there and complained about the Jets O-line but said nothing about the Bills, who could not stop the Jets D at all. Yes Allen is an idiot with the ball. Especially running. But he is still one of the best QB's in the league. Nick's problem is he wants to compare every single QB to the love of his life, Mahomes.

He has always stacked the deck in his favor. Jordan didn't win without Pippen but tell me if you can who was on Jordan's team those first 7 years? No all stars or HOF's in their prime in can tell you that. Name one guy on Jordan's roster before Pippen showed up. Now, can you tell me who the teams are Jordan played against before Pippen showed up? The Boston Celtics who went 67-15 and had Bird who was the league MVP? Or how about the stacked Lakers, or the stacked Pistons, etc etc. Jordan lost without Pippen but look at Jordan's stats in those losses, they are insane, and the HOF teams he had to play against. This wasn't the Leastern Conference when Lebron was playing. Lebon got SWEPT multiple times in the Playoffs, once by the Spurs and once by the Nuggets. When is he going to "activate playoff mode"? Cuz last time he said that they missed the playoffs. Please stop with the Lebron vs MJ comparisons - there is no comparison, Jordan is on a level Lebron will never reach.

As the OP states, there were wide open short gains right in front of him that I could catch as someone who has never played football in my life other than in the park. He has professional athletes 8 yards in front of him wide open but he opts to throw 30 into triple coverage. Take what the defense gives you and he will be fine but he refuses to do that. Nick is 100% right. Josh Allen has all the elements of the stereotypical running quarterback when it comes to being a turnover machine who plays with reckless abandon and doesn't protect his body. And despite him only having one CCG appearance, no one question whether or not his style of play can win a Super Bowl. No one questions his status as an elite QB. I don't see how skin color isn't the major variable for the disparity in how he's viewed vs so many others historically who accomplished as much or even more than him like a Cam Newton.

And Allen reminds me of Cam Newton. Takes way too many hits. Someday, he’s going to wake up and all of those hits are going to accumulate into a broken and worn down body. That’s what happened with Cam. His body was just shot a season or two after that Super Bowl loss. Even other running QB’s like Lamar Jackson, Justin Fields, and the others usually avoid big hits, slide, or run out of bounds. Allen keeps taking on those hits head on and trucking like a Fullback, which is what Cam Newton always did. I think Allen’s a talented QB with still a lot of potential, but he’s going to have a very short career if he keeps playing like he is.
