I miss the value range at Tesco & I don’t think any true value items remain these days with the constant price hikes. You have the Hearty range & Ms Molly’s etc. but they are nowhere near as cheap as their predecessors. Back in the day my favs were the value shampoo & conditioner & the washing up liquid plus the cheese & onion pasty. I use to fill my trolley with as many value items as possible & the savings were phenomenal. All the value products were fantastic & the fish pie actually contained more fish than the rival Findus one. I know it’s sad but I always wanted a Tesco Value T-shirt, I missed the boat there. Great review, brings back some memories 👍😎⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Chips in the air fryer rock and the fish too would have been great.. and that bbq rib sandwich you had on the YT Shorts could have been done in the air fryer too

For fish I always goto heron foods, they have packs of battered fish in their xsell range (production line rejects) it's usually branded stuff and it's often hard to tell what the fault is lol. I've had the Asda smart price fish fillets, now the yellow essentials ones, they were absolutely grim. But back then they really cheap and now they're £2 something. So hopefully they've not just changed the packaging, put the price up and kept the product the same.

The hearty range lasagna is so so nice so is ghe pasta in sauce I just put extra cheese on each and the pastaand sauce I put sausages with it I think the cheap ranges are brilliant and value for money those mushy peas looked nice I always put peas over my chips I like stockwell baked beans jam .fo you know you can use lard in asleep fat frier an electric one that's what I use love fran xxxx

Hearty Food company sounds a lot better than Tesco Value and it dont discriminate against poor people like us lol , I just had the Spag Bol they sell for only 75pence and it was actually very nice but portions are small so i had some garlic bread with it that cost me like 50p from Aldi , also their Chicken curry for 75p is ok too , as long as it keeps me alive thats all im worried about lol

Didn't look too bad in fairness! I reckon Asda have the best value range right now - but it's a real lottery if they have the product on the shelf.

You were very very lucky when you got your Hearty Food Chips, they actually look like they do on the packet, I got some, and now what you get out of the 1.5kg packet is about 500 grams of small chips and about 1000 grams of inedible tiny bits, and Tesco's have had the cheek to put the price up to £1.39 for this rubbish, more profiteering at the supermarkets.

Yeah it is the replacement of tesco value with the fake brands to be a bit like lidl/aldi

That fish has nearly doubled in price in the last couple of weeks. I've not bought it since the price increase. Interested to know if the recipe has changed to justify the price increase (i.e. more actual fish in a portion).

Don't know if you bought the fish on a discount clubcard day but I just looked at this item in Tesco's and the price is £3.29p unless it went up, still that makes the fish 82p the chips 20p mushy peas 30p all in £1.32 still excellent,cheers Deano.

They also have other brands like stock wells that are tescos own brands

i always put a teaspoon of sugar on top of mushy peas, try it.

It is amazing 85 pence per portion of fish chips and peas but if i go to my local chippy the buggers want £6 just for 1 piece of fish no wonder all the restaurants and takeaways are going bust , I get that cost of energy has gone up but Fish is not expensive and you can buy a bag of Maris Pipers for £1 so they are price gouging , this is why i watch your channel Deano as you help people save money and eat well.
