I want to help you guys out with this video. Here is a kayak fishing spot for you guys to take advantage. This spot is NOT A BEGINNER SPOT. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICE. LET SOMEONE KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO THIS SPOT BEFOREHAND. BE SAFE.
Sargent,TX is a great place to fish. The water clarity is very good and it’s only a 1.5 hour drive from Houston, TX. Not that much of a difference in drive time versus Houston to Galveston, TX.
However, this place on this particular day in the footage was not an ideal day to go. There was a hard cold front moving in and the water was drained out by the north winds along with the outgoing tide. No water, 25 mph head winds, massive water chop led to a bad day to try to sight cast. Although, I did see one cruising red trying to escape the 4 inches of water on this particular day.
But, back to the point....You can witness tailing redfish here as well as blowups on the grass line. You can also see the redfish through the water if you are wearing polarized sunglasses. Flounder can be caught at drop offs and trout can be caught in deeper cuts in the channel. This spot is a great place to sight cast or sight fish redfish.
The marsh can get very skinny so go on a high tide and during the late spring, summer and fall is the best.
