I knew it was a joke early on, but the "I ain't lying this time," made me laugh out loud. 🤣

I used to have an older customer who if he started off a story by saying "now this is the truth" you knew it was going to be a whopper.

The look on the brother's face closest to the camera whilst listening to the story had me laughing.

Two of my great-uncles caught (through dubious means) a Harpeth River catfish once, that was so big they had to cut down a 10’ red cedar tree to run through its gills to tote it up the bank home. The catfish’s tail dragged on the ground all the way.

I did see something similar to this IRL on River Monsters. They had to use airplane grade cable attached to a grappling hook and a giant tree stump. The fish busted the rig a couple times but eventually they caught it. It was a white sturgeon about 12ft long. This was in Alaska though.
@redeyestones3738Ай бұрын
Took me about half a minute to realize they're floating down the river in a home made house boat. Pretty cool in itself. Then the story. 😆

Absolutely love the old story tellers, when it's not all BS. You can learn a lot from them that will guide you through your life. My grandparents lined me out about the government lies years ago. And they were totally correct. My school had an agenda that tried to convince all of us that there was a shortage of an energy source, I argued that we had been informed of the shortage at school, so it must be true. They called bullshit and told me what they knew and summed it up with the prediction that once the price went up there would be no shortage. With a big bullshit story from the government about a new resource, so no more worries. But the price did go up, this was in the late 60's. So, " Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you read". Mark Twain

My Uncle when I was little boy I’m 70 now there was this sycamore tree on the bank of the licking river same river you are talking about. Well he took a cane pole with a mud elk on the hook down through the roots of this sycamore tree that over hung the river about 10 feet and pulled out the biggest red eye or rock bass. It was 18 inches long and weighed almost 2 pound. If I wasn’t there I would not believe it. I have never seen a rock bass big ever sence and I’ve caught a lot of rock bass sense then. TRUE STORY love the vidie
