Love the content, those type of soft plastic lures work great on the open grass flats here in the big bend. I got some open days come August for a little rental cabin on a private spring fed lake in North Florida I grew up on that’s loaded with lunkers and panfish if you’re ever wanting to give freshwater a good go. Once those really hot days of the first of August hits the water temp is so high during the day that the night fishing is super active and on another level around the shore/structure.

It was eye opening to see all that caged rip wrap on the shoreline structure. Fighting snook out of the mangroves is tough enough but to get them out of that structure is quite the job. Kudos.

I really am impressed that you have stayed with your same kayak all the way through. Nowadays, so many people change out their kayaks for the new "season" and I never quite understood the benefits of that

I love this kayak it’s got a great hull and I think it’s better than the current Hobie outback hulls. This was the last model before they did a full redesign. 2018 and 2017 Hobie outback’s in my opinion are the best.

Rich, about once a year my family and I go down to Florida for a couple of weeks and stay in a condo by the little Sarasota bay and I’ve never had any luck fishing with artificial lures. We also catch mangroves or sometimes snook, on live shrimp. What kind of lures could I use? Btw Love the videos keep it up

alr real question, so I've been told by FWC oily attractants don't work b/c they just wash right off/it's oil in the water and doesn't diffuse right so the fish can't smell it...every time I use juice it seems like it's just dripping right off... BUT, the smell stays in my clothes/gloves forever... is it really working, does it really help?

Smell your lure. It sticks better to some soft plastics more than others. But with dr juice or procure some fish nearly swallow the lure. I think it helps. It probably not necessary to get a bite but every little edge can help

Awesome, that should be a good trip! I would get swimbaits 4” & 5” paired with 3/4, 1, and 1.5ounce jig heads. 3/4, 1, and 1.5 ounce bucktails green or white paired w/ some kind of trailer strip (pork rind, fat cow strip etc) 5” or 6” spooks, poppers like the dark matter pulsar poppers. If you plan to night fish I would get some 7” zoom super flukes and swing them in the current on 1/2 ounce jig head or weedless hook. Also mag darters or super strike darters would work. I hope this helps
