My good friend is a Deputy Sheriff, so I wanted to surprise him with his very own stand for all his day-to-day gear. It has brackets so he can hang his duty belt and bulletproof vest off the main post. On the top is a tray for his radio, bodycam, flashlight, as well as any other small items with a hole in the back to route charging cables through. Next to that is a lockbox that will contain his sidearm and his taser. Another nice thing about this stand is that the entire thing breaks down into three parts making it easy to transport or to ship. This is certainly a unique piece but yet something that is highly sought after by law enforcement officers, military personnel, and even the tactical enthusiast. This is beautiful! I could use something like this for my "mom" gear...a place for my phone, my purse, my planner, a locked box for my chocolate...that sort of thing.

During deployments, we often made something similar with just 4x4 and 2x4 to stow helmets, armor etc. This is a whole new level! Walnut always finishes so nice! Great Project

That issue with the CNC in the outtakes, if your collet isn't tight enough (or is worn) your bit can slip down during the cut and drag through your work when it returns back to home. I disable the return-to-home feature unless its necessary for a multi-sided job or something.

That sounds like a possibility, but I've had that happen in the middle of the run, and the collet was tight. It was running the right path, but too low. Sometimes they have a brain fart. Reran it and worked fine.

I didn't fully tighten the collet. When things heated up from the long carve, the collet expanded and the bit slide down. It was my own dumb fault, not the machine.

@@FishersShop Ah, ok. I would rather have that happen than a program glitch. At least you were able to fix it. I’ve had more than a couple times that it’s just taken off, either in the wrong direction or wrong height. It’s bad enough to have to get another board, but when you don’t know if it’s going to do it again is a nerve racking feeling.🥺
