A little tip from me which works for me is, when you see the fish coming towards you just let the bait rest for 1-2 seconds then start reeling again agressively, might work, try it out ;)

Precisely what I was thinking, they're not giving the fish chance to strike, just ripping the bait away as soon as the see the fish. Pike will really hit and chomp their prey hard, but you have to let them!

Thank you for staying optimistic while going through periods of time not catching fish. That my friends is something i need to exercise while no matter what i do can get the fish to bite on my hook. Some times i get so frustrated that i just hive up, go jome and dont fish anymore fore a while. But you two guys keep persevering and casting until you catch a fish stay safe. Cheers

That's been my experience with top water, they miss the bait about 80 % of the time with a good lure. Add that with a lure that has a poor hook-up percentage like the duck, and you're in for a very frustrating day. Because of how a Pikes eyes are located on the top of their head, once they open their mouth to take a top water lure, they can no longer see the bait. When I'm having bites on a top water bait, but can't hook up I switch to a sub surface or wake bait.

16:54 Sometimes that's how it is. Most of these predator fish we target are highly territorial and they'll strike at something not to eat it, but to scare it away or to kill it.

Wait for the weight. After the hit force yourself to feel the fish before you strike. Try just counting to two. If that doesn't work count to three. Resist the urge to hit on sight. Take a deep breath then let them have the hooks. Great videos guys! Thanks!
