The trick with pickerel is to gut them and bake them in the oven. Pull the meat off the bones. Then deep fry the meat in a hush puppy/ crab cake style concoction. Pickerel cakes!

Good video. Next time you catch bluegill season it lightly while it’s dry with lemon pepper, Cajun, and salt then throw it in a bag of 70%cornmeal:30%flour. Then fry 2-3 min each side. This recipe tastes excellent and really helps bring out the flavor of the fish.

A ugly stick dock runner rod reel combo is literally like 15 bucks paired with a road runner Crappie thunder lure $2.49. If you hook a 2 lb bass its gonna feel massive. Buy the best you can afford but mentioned the cheap ugly stick deal as it was literally made for this type of fishing
