Our first time fishing the 4 day walleye rodeo fishing tournament and the kid's fishing derby. We pass along information about what we learned and what we would do for the next year's tournament.

Ever try dipsy divers with a spoon or Lindy rig in those lakes to get past like 20 ft water for walleye?

No I haven’t but that’s something we need to try for sure.

I want to give it a try. I've been marking tons of fish around 25 to 30 ft at Hefner but can't get down there. No luck jigging

Thanks! So the shuttle is called Arc Lab Shuttle, and the screen for it is from same place and called a screen visor. It’s 3D printed.

Carter and I were on the water with you. FYI you can register after catching fish too. We launched at 6. Couldn't find bait either. Used lures. Caught, sandbass, crappie and a striper. Your subs have more than doubled since you hooked me. Congratulations!

Ha that’s great to know because we waited until 9 to fish and register. We learned a lot from our first time there. Next year we will be more prepared, and crossing our fingers for the lifetime license for the kiddos.

@Boone Boys just pay prior to entering your fish. We had ballgames and a graduation so Thursday was it for us.

Do you ever catch bass deep at canton or foss ?

Check out our hybrid bass fishing where we deadstick at Foss. We are in 50-60ft there but it’s nov dec. At canton, yes we catch them in the deep as well, but at canton deep is like 25’. Typically now you’ll catch them from 6-20’.

I've fished a few saltwater tournaments, but have had the worst luck. When you used to catching tons of big fish, but when the money is on the table, they get elusive! The kids fishing is alway a lot of fun! Sorry you guys didnt get on any big fish! I used gulps for the first time last week while fishing for Hybrids and White Bass. For the day, ever fish was caught on the troll. I could get a decent bite on any lure, so in all fairness it was a bad day to test using the gulps on a jig. We fished from noon to 6pm. We didnt keep any White Bass under 13" but still boxed 27 and my last two bites were a 20" and 21" Hybrid.

Yea, next year we will be more prepared to catch a variety of species. I’d would’ve taken over 20 fish today! We caught bait last night and it died on us overnight so we winged it.
