Norway isn't just about monster cod and halibut, it also offers the most stunning settings to target a variety of other flatfish, including some exceptionally sized plaice and dab.

Both are very scenic, although one is a little more industrial than the other. The weather couldn't have been better for us either, always makes a difference.

Nice vid.... But seriously if you cant catch there take up golf... No disrespect but we used to catch monster plaice on the shambles bank out of Weymouth. Having said that those dabs are superb best flavour fish in the sea..

Flatfish fishing in Norway can often be more about finding where you can avoid alternative species, to maxamise the chance of that double figure plaice coming along, which is ultimately what we are all searching for. At the same time, it’s also just escapism. You’d be hard pressed to not enjoy yourself in the locations we fished even if blanking (as unlikely as that would be).

If you want big specimens move away from ALL guide tour areas and find your own spots because in the areas where guidesrvices are plentiful the fishing has degraded a LOT....
