Thankyou Let's Go Fishing! South Florida!!! I wish we were catching them like that everytime we pulled our pots! But we've got poachers out there beating us to them at times. Tomorrow we're going out to do an early morning fish for some Pink Snapper, Breaksea Cod and hopefully some Dhufish then on the way home we'll check our pots!!! Hopefully we'll have a great day and you'll be able to watch it on KZfaq in a week or two!!! Take care and tight lines Icy Santa Ana!!!!

Thankyou Dennis Butler we really appreciate your comment!!! We haven't encountered anything like that yet. Last week a few of the guys at the marina were saying there was a few sharks coming up with there craypots. There's plenty of crays out there at the moment. We've been getting a few Jumbos with a few of our catches we look forward to those ones!!! There's a lot of people out there raiding other peoples pots at the moment it gets a bit annoying at times but we're still getting a nice feed to feed the family!!! Take care!!!!!

As a West Aussie, there's nothing more satisfying than a man/woman understanding and acting to preserve what we have for future generations. If only the government had as much understanding as to how the ocean ecology works when it comes to particular issues.

I just fish because I love to fish and share my experiences around the world!!! Fishing is a hobby of mine that I love with a passion!!!! Every opportunity I get I will go fishing!!! Not everytime I go fishing do I catch fish or lobster. But when we do catch fish and lobster we film it and document it and we can probably make 4 or 5 short videos from it. Leanne loves watching me and filming me when I'm fishing!!! She loves filming all the different species that we catch and seeing all the different colours of the fish!!!! Greeeting, how many hours do you leave in the water, 24 hours , 48 hours? before picking them up.
@rodneyharris7246
@rodneyharris7246 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rene Flores anywhere from two to seven days. If we leave it in there for seven days we use tuna heads, mullet, mackerel and herring for bait. The tuna heads take awhile before they disappear. The mackerel and herring don't last long but it attracts them. The mullet and tuna heads keep them hanging around for awhile!!!!!!!Thanks for your comment hope this has been helpful to you!!!! Take care my Friend!!!!

Thanks John's Fish Tales!!! I edited that bit out to make the video a bit shorter. Recreational fishers like me are required by law to snip there tails to prevent shop owners from purchasing rock lobsters from recreational fishers like me and vice a versa. Western Australian rock lobster are fetching $99AUD a kilo so the laws are pretty strict!! Take care and tight lines!!!

Hi Peter Morrison we enjoy catching the Lobster for our Family!!! We live on a lot of seafood too!!!! When the females in season she collects the male sperm and puts it in the tar spot and then when she's ready to fertilize the eggs she scratches the tar spot releasing the male sperm to fertilize the eggs. When there like that we're not allowed to take them. Thankyou for your comments Leanne and I really appreciate them!!! Take care and have an awesome week!!!!

Hi, are you harvesting all the males only? does this thing does not mate to have eggs? I mean returning the females with eggs is good but how about the male population, is it not decreasing? Just a curious one.
@rodneyharris7246
@rodneyharris7246 6 жыл бұрын
This is just what our fisheries allows us to catch. If there in setose, tar spot or eggs we can't have them. We can have the male and the female as long as there size and the female isn't in setose, tar spot or eggs. There are huge penalties if we're caught with the wrong lobster. Western Rock Lobster are one of the most expensive lobsters on the market. 90% of Western Australian Lobsters are exported to China and Japan live!!!
@docastilar5840
@docastilar5840 6 жыл бұрын
thanks, may be the your law can consider releasing 1 male lobster out of six keeepers captured since adult lobster may takes time to mature hence even though you have enough female lobster but with lesser male, the same effect as if you are harvesting the female. this is of course not considering the study your government is doing. thanks anyway for the feedback.

These type of fisherman may be our only last hope of keeping shellfish alive. In my opinion the Japanese fishing industries will destroy the entire pacific rim of valid fish and shellfish within a decade. The entire Japanese consortium live in this pipe dream there is nothing wrong. well good luck to you when in 2030 you can't bring in a single blue fin that ways more that 300 pounds well good luck to your country when you can no longer feed the massive. Japan and the whole pacific rim can no longer sustain live food for Japan. Until ten years ago I ignored the green piece BS. I believe now the Japanese will destroy the entire pacific ocean of all food sources within 20 years. if this happens their country will fail because they will have to rely on outside sources of food. Its like oil they are just looking at profit margins now. god help their country by 2030.
